I am a WIFTA group member based in North Carolina. I am a graduate of UNCW with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Film Studies. So far, I have written, produced and directed two film shorts. I'm in the process of finalizing a feature script based on one of the shorts to pitch. Although I am unable to attend your meetings, Shani suggested I send a treatment to be read and critiqued by the group. I know the next meeting is this Sunday, February 8th. I am a WIFTA group member based in North Carolina. I am a graduate of UNCW with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Film Studies. So far, I have written, produced and directed two film shorts. I'm in the process of finalizing a feature script based on one of the shorts to pitch. Although I am unable to attend your meetings, Shani suggested I send a treatment to be read and critiqued by the group. I know the next meeting is this Sunday, February 8th. This is information forwarded by another WIFTA member about an upcoming screenwriting class. The information is below!

Nancy Knight, my screenwriter on my film Insanity du Jour, that was in the last WIFTI showcase, and I had diner last night with Phil Nutman. He told us about a screen writing class he's teaching for the next 8 weeks at a bookstore in Decatur.

Nancy has known Phil for years through her connection with DragonCon. It was my first time meeting him, and I was impressed. He's a writer/producer who has had 2 of his screenplays produced and has just started a production company to develop others.

I felt he has been in the trenches for awhile and had a lot to teach both about the craft and the business.

The 8 week class starts this Wednesday 2/11.

I haven't heard of the Screenwriters Federation so I can't speak about it's credibility. But it seems the registering with the guild is usually suggested, so I would definitely recommend doing that!
