The Star Wars Society of San Antonio will join the San Antonio Food
Bank on January 10, 2009 at the Live Oak Comic Book Show to collect
donations for the Food Bank.  A representative will be present for the
collection and to give receipts for your tax deductible donations.  The
SWSSA members will be present in costume to assist with encouraging
visitors to donate to such a worthy cause.  Please join us at the
convention between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm this Saturday.
    Hope to see you there!

We were so well received by the folks in Boerne on Saturday that it was
unanimous that we should request to be in the parade next year as well.
The kids really liked us and Han Solo and Chewbaca were a big hit!  The
kids were yelling out,"Darth Vadar, over here!"  I was Lady Vader,
Princess Lea, from the Extended Universe and we had Mace Windu, 2 Rebel
Fleet Troopers, an Endor Trooper, Obi Wan Kenobe, and "Jedi Crow".
I know that next year we will have more attendees, since this years
invite was so close to the event.  We should have a great time so keep
watching the boards for more information and don't forget, the Fiesta
Flambeau is only 4 1/2 months away!

Here is information on the Boerne Christmas parade on Dec. 6th, 2008.  SWSSA
will
participate in the Boerne, Texas Christmas day parade and we are making a call
out to any
members who wish to participate.
Here is the info:
December, 6th.
Be there at 5:00.
Judging at 5:45.
Parade starts at 6:00.
The parade route is down Main St and seems to be no longer than a couple of
miles.  This will
be the first time to participate in the Boerne Christmas Parade and we would
like as many
members that are able to attend to walk with us.
I can offer a ride to the Parade in Boerne in my care so please contact me so I
can take a
count for my vehicle.
I can seat 4.  Please see further details on this event and others on our
Invision message
board  under the Events Thread through the link below.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Alamo Heights Parade on Saturday,
Nov 22,
2008.  This has been our 7th year participating in the local event to kick off
the Thanksgiving
and Christmas Holidays.  It has always been a great way to entertain the kids
who line up
along Broadway street to see all the local groups and societies of our area with
their floats
and marching teams.  We look forward to next years event and hope that everyone
who is
able can march in the parade.

THIS coming Sat, May 7 at the Pizza Hutt on 410/Marbach from 6PM till 9
PM. Come on out as we prepare for SW Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.

I'm not sure I have the energy for midnight movies-but I'd like to stop
by the lineup.
I haven't bought any tickets yet-I'd like to see it at drafthouse on a
slow day. It's closest.
Otherwise-just wherever I can get a student discount and on a slower
day-not into squeezing into seats in a packed room.

FAIL. you should check 'em out sometime.   Sin 13 is still around we've just
changed the name to ATOMiX..and we still do 80s retro nights on Fridays. i
bartend every friday, so grab some friends and come see me soon!!!
