Bruce Campbell's feature film writing/directing debut reruns late tonight (Fri. 9/11, so very early, the morning of the 12th) at 3 AM on Syfy, the network formerly known as Sci-Fi.

Ted Raimi co-stars, along with Stacey Keach and Tamara Gorski (Morrigan from HTLJ) plus most of the supporting cast from Alien Apocalypse, including the ubiquitous Jonas Talkington, who dies a horrid death before the opening credits.  Music by long time Ren Pics collaborator Joe LoDuca.

LAKESHORE RECORDS TO RELEASE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK FOR DRAG ME TO HELL

Composer Christopher Young Collaborates With Director Sam Raimi For The Film

(August 17, 2009- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the original soundtrack for DRAG ME TO HELL, available digitally (iTunes and Amazon Digital) in July and in stores on August 18, 2009.  Christopher Young (The Informers, The Uninvited) composed the music.

Golden Globe-nominated composer Christopher Young has scored almost 100 successful features ranging across virtually every genre, all with strikingly original music. Never repeating himself, Young’s works extend from the spine-tingling Hellraiser showcasing his seminal upbringing in horror; to the new-techno sound of Swordfish and the resonant, genuine Celtic sounds of The Shipping News.  With each successive Christopher Young crafted score, the composer continually stretches the bounds of his versatility.

Young has worked with some of the top filmmakers of the past ten years including DRAG ME TO HELL director Sam Raimi (The Gift, Spiderman 3, The Grudge and The Grudge 2), Norman Jewison (The Hurricane and Bandits), and Curtis Hanson (Lucky You, Wonder Boys).  In addition to his busy film-composing schedule, Young is imparting his experience and knowledge to a new generation of film composers, teaching at USC since the early nineties.  He is a two-term past president of The Film Music Society and the president of the Madrid Film Music Festival in Spain.

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks, and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: How far will she go to break free of the curse?

Universal Pictures presents DRAG ME TO HELL released nationwide on May 29, 2009.  DRAG ME TO HELL original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital in July and in stores on August 18, 2009.

From the Nashua Daioly Telegraph at http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=%2F20090622%2FNEWSBLOG%2F906229965 :

Happy birthday, Bruce Campbell!

"Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun." Today we wish a happy 51st birthday to Bruce Campbell, the quintessential B movie actor. He was born in Michigan and went to Wylie E. Groves High School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, where he met eventual director and producer Sam Raimi. The two began making movies together while they were still in high school.

Campbell is best known for his role as Ash, the reluctant protagonist of the Evil Dead horror/slapstick film trilogy. The trilogy includes 1981's "Evil Dead," 1987's "Evil Dead II," and the surprisingly-named "Army of Darkness," released in 1992.

The three films follow Ash's gory adventures as he accidentally unleashes demons by playing a cassette tape of incantations from the Book of the Dead and then tries to send them back where they came from. The first film was so graphic that Raimi (the film's writer, director, and producer) found it nearly impossible to get the film distributed until Stephen King helped him out by endorsing it.

The trilogy has since developed a worldwide cult following, with "Army of Darkness" (which has more emphasis on slapstick and less on horror) being perhaps the most accessible film to those of us who are not die-hard fans of terror and gore.

Campbell and Raimi are reportedly collaborating on an "Evil Dead" remake, with Campbell producing and Raimi writing the script. Thus far, Campbell has no plans to reprise his role as Ash, but maybe he'll do a cameo of some kind to please the fans. The film is tentatively slated for release in 2010.

In addition to the Evil Dead trilogy, Campbell played the title character in the early '90s TV series "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." and had a small role as a scientist who gets ripped to shreds by killer gorillas in the movie "Congo." He has written an autobiography ("If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor") and is currently starring as Sam Axe in the TV series "Burn Notice."   - Teresa Santoski

We saw it this weekend and definitely want to see it again. It was a total scream! Sam really knows his stuff and packed this movie full of scares and laughs. He used every trick in the book and as you'll see some of the simplest were the creepiest.

I'm so glad he's back in bed with horror once more and if this is what he does with PG-13 can't wait till he ups the ante to R.

Drag Me to Hell

A film review by Bill Gibron - Copyright C 2009 Filmcritic.com

With the
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ Spider-Man>
Spider-Man films sitting out there like tarted-up, tawdry trophy wives,
it's
easy to forget how good a filmmaker Sam Raimi really is. If it weren't
for
the commercial strictures of the comic book movie, mandates which tend
to
stifle outright creativity, he might still be churning out the quality
spine-tinglers. Instead, he's been lost in a sea of sparkle and
spectacle,
forgetting us fright fans who propped him up and suggested he might
sell to
a strict Tinseltown demo. Now, he's back crafting the kind of spook
shows
that made us all fall in love with him in the first place -- and Drag
Me to
Hell is quite an act of crazed contrition.

Loan Officer Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) wants the available
assistant
manager position in her bank. She hopes it will impress the parents of
her
psychology professor boyfriend Clay Dalton (Justin Long). But when a
need
for cutthroat tactics causes her to deny a geriatric gypsy woman (Lorna
Raver) a third extension on her mortgage, there is literally hell to
pay.
Seems the old lady places a curse on Christine, guaranteeing that, in
three
days, a demon will arrive to drag her down to Satan's dominion. Hoping
to
avoid such a horrible fate, she seeks the aid of psychic Rham Jas
(Dileep
Rao). He suggests a medium (Adriana Barraza) who had a run in with the
same
spirit several years before. Unfortunately, it seems Christine's soul is
condemned, and nothing can save her.

At first, Drag Me to Hell is a tad disconcerting. This is a Raimi we
haven't
seen in almost 17 years, since
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ Army-of-Darkness>
Army
of Darkness delivered its madcap medieval times. We are so used to the
man
being part of the Hollywood elite, of delivering mainstream thrillers (
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ A-Simple- Plan> A
Simple
Plan,
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ The-Gift- %282000%29>

The Gift) or producing other artists' genre efforts (

<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ Boogeyman>

that his insane brand of directorial bravado seems slightly surreal at
first. But then a kind of mental muscle memory takes over and we
witness the
fright film rebirth of the man who made the Necronomicon and tree rape a
classic creepshow reality. As a result, Drag Me to Hell becomes the
horror
comedy reminder of who the real macabre master is.

Raimi is clearly having fun here, throwing as much goop and gunk at the
screen as his PG-13 rating will allow. But that's not all. As he has
shown
throughout his entire career, no one understands the music of terror
better
than Mr.
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ The-Evil- Dead> Evil
Dead. The sound design utilized is stunning, as unnerving as anything
the
man has attempted before. Similarly, Raimi really ratchets up the
suspense.
There are sequences of dread so intense that they guarantee to push you
right up to the edge of your already well-worn seat. While it has a few
flaws (one too many gamey old lady gags, at least at the beginning), we
are
clearly in the presence of a cinematic visionary.

While acting is never a major issue for Raimi, Ms. Lohman deserves
credit
for stepping in when
<http://www.filmcrit ic.com/misc/ emporium. nsf/reviews/ Juno> Juno herself,
Ellen Page, dropped out due to scheduling issues. She does an amazing
job
with what is the usually thankless role of supernatural victim. Long is
also
good as her comic relief boyfriend, though he kind of drops out of the
narrative toward the end. New faces like Raver and Rao really leave an
impression, and the special effects by Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger
are
first rate. Raimi really enjoys the newfound freedom of CGI. One
sickening
set-piece involving an anvil will have audiences squirming with
gorehound
delight.

With its overabundance of energy and kinetic in-your-face style, Drag
Me to
Hell is the stuff nightmares are made of. For however brief this stay
may
be, it is nice to have Sam Raimi back doing what he does best --
scaring the
bejesus out of people.

Sam and Rob's Drag Me To Hell opens Friday - see assorted reviews, interviews, and photos of Sam, his wife Gillian, and Ted at the premiere at
http://www.sf- fandom.com/ vbulletin/ showthread. php?t=27995 (scroll down to the most recent 4 or 5 posts.)

There's a wonderful line from Sci-Fi Wire:

If strangulation and bashing out an old woman's teeth don't sound hilarious, don't worry. It's Sam Raimi, so it's still comical.

"Seeing the final film, some of the humor was a revelation," Raver said. "You can read it and think, ha ha ha. You don't know whether or not it's going to come off as funny or 'Oh, my God.' Of course, that's Sam. That's his trademark, kind of, I guess, and where he puts the humor and how he introduces things that might be in the script that you wouldn't think would be funny, because of the way he shoots it or whatever little touch he adds, turn out to be hysterical."

Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi will be live in Miami the weekend of June 5th-7th at the Florida Supercon - "South Florida''s comic book, anime, animation, cosplay, fantasy and video gaming festival."  Bruce is also at another convention in Connecticut the following weekend - see
http://www.sf- fandom.com/ vbulletin/ showthread. php?p=361793# post361793 for details.

And then Bruce's hit tv series Burn Notice returns for its 3rd season at a new time (but the same night) - 9 PM Thursday, June 4th on USA.  There are a ton of reruns scheduled over the next week to get you caught up - details at http://www.sf- fandom.com/ vbulletin/ showthread. php?t=31389 .

And there's a new Bruce-centric commercial for it at http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=imMY3cysETM .

And finally, there's a new double-dvd release of Man w/ the Screaming Brain and Alien Apocalypse out from Anchor Bay - details at http://www.anchorba yentertainment. com/index. asp?p=MultipackD etail&SKU=DV16454&PriCatID=3&GenreID=0 .  "2 Times the Bruce!
Double the action...Double the laughs...Double the chin...."   Amazon has it for just $12.99.

This weekend's new episode of Legend of the Seeker, called "Cursed," features appearances by Patrick Kake and Danielle Cormack.

Patrick played Mauser on Cleo, after working for many years as the body double for Kevin Sorbo (and sometimes Kevin Smith too) on Hercules.   He plays a D'Haran leader on this.  Danielle Cormack played Raina on Cleo, as well as the Amazon Ephiny on XWP, and the Chartreuse Fox of HTLJ.  (Plus she was in the film Amazon High, that sorta kinda was the basis for Cleo.)

There are 2 awesome PR photos of Patrick at Mary D's site at http://legend.ausxip.com/multimedia/images/index.php?spgmGal=Episode_Stills/Season_1/S1_19_Cursed&spgmPic=2&spgmFilters=t#spgmPicture , and at the show's official site at http://www.legendoftheseeker.com/ .  This episode is going to delayed or pre-empted for me locally by Nascar, so check your local listings to find out the actual date and time.

Airing at 2 AM late Friday night, May 1st (i.e. early the morning of Sat. 5/2, for those with literal-minded vcr's and TIVO.)

TCM, i.e. Turner Classic Movies (and not to be confused with TMC, The Movie Channel) usually airs things unedited, commercial-free.  Usually R ratings don't apply, since it's usually older movies.  Guessing that with the late hour, they may in fact air this with all the gore intact.

Subject: Lucy Lawless returns to ancient Rome in Rob + Sam's Spartacus series

Lucy has been cast in Rob's new Spartacus series for the cable channel Starz.

It's been retitled "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," and is basically going to be a heavy-R-rated series in the tradition of the film
300 and the HBO series Rome, and using the basic historical story of Spartacus (i.e. not just the Kirk Douglas movie, the
TV remake, or the Howard Fast novel) as the basis for a new series.  So no centaurs or mermaids or Amazons...but no obligation
 to stick to history either.

Production begins now, early April, in NZ, and the show will premiere on cable in the US in January.

From the press release:  Lucy Lawless has also been cast as Lucretia, who along with her husband Batiatus, own the Ludus (a gladiator camp) - as
well as Spartacus.  The couple has fallen on hard times financially and has bought Spartacus hoping his fighting prowess will
help them regain their status in the brutal world of gladiatorial contests. Among her many roles, Lawless is best known for
portraying “Xena: Warrior Princess” in the long-running global hit series, and has appeared in SCI FI Channel’s critically
acclaimed “Battlestar Galactica.”

No word on who will play Batiatus, the character for which Peter Ustinov won an Oscar in the original movie.

For those not familiar with the movie, we saw clips from it in "The Athens Academy for Performing Bards" back in 1st season XWP - that was the story Gabrielle was telling as her contest entry.  Interestingly, the guy who defeated the historical Spartacus was Crassus, whom we saw being duped by Xena  in the 3rd season XWP episode "When in Rome."

Cast in the lead role of Spartacus is a young Australian actor named Andy Whitfield. He got a lot of attention for a Australian-filmed Constantine-like movie called Gabriel a year or two ago. He's originally from Wales, and attended the Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors in Sydney. He's also guest-starred on All Saints, McLeod's Daughters, Packed to the Rafters, and The Strip.  (See below text for a photo of him.)

Others in the cast are:

- TX-born Erin Cummings as Thracian priestess Sura, Spartacus’ wife - she has had bit parts on Dollhouse and many other shows, including that time-travel ep of Star Trek: Enterprise, "Carpenter Street" (with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a reptilian Xindi in 21st-c. Chicago) in the credited role of.... "Prostitute #1."

- Peter Mensah as Doctore, Batiatus’ most loyal and trusted slave; he's a really big (6'4") shaven-headed African-American martial artist/actor, although actually he's African/British/Canadian. He was the Messenger from the Persians in 300, Gen. Perry in the future scenes on Sarah Connor, and has been in eps of Enterprise, Witchblade, Relic Hunter, Earth: Final Conflict, La Femme Nikita, Once a Thief, and many other shows and films.

- Manu Bennett (Mark Antony on XWP) as Crixus, the top gladiator at Batiatus’ Ludus.

- Antonio Te Maioha as Barca, a big, hulking brute of a man who is Batiatus’ bodyguard and hit man; we've seen him many times before, as one of the bounty hunters on the Seeker ep "Bounty," as the war god Kel who was vying with Ares in the Xena ep "Chakram," as one of the Sumerian guys with Nebula in the Herc ep "Descent," and other eps too.

- Craig Parker (Darken Rahl on Sam and Rob's Legend of the Seeker, Young Herc's half-brother Lucius, many roles on XWP including Bellerophon in "To Helicon and Back") as Glaber, a Roman Legate, who blames Spartacus for his failed military campaign.

- Nick E. Tarabay as Ashur, a former gladiator who is now the Ludus’ resident bookie; he was on several Sopranos eps as Matush, Jackie Jr.'s drug-dealer buddy from the Middle East, and has also guested on the usual cop shows (Without a Trace, CSI: Miami, Moonlight, The Unit) and has been a regular on Crash.

It's already Tuesday 3/31 in New Zealand, meaning that it's the birthday of Angela Marie Dotchin, aka Emilia!

From her IMDB bio:

Angela Dotchin was born in Auckland, New Zealand but her father's early success in business meant she travelled extensively when she young. By the age of 11, she had lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Los Angeles, London and Sydney and had spent six months in India with her mother and older sister. Her family returned to Auckland in 1985 and five years later, at age 16, she began modeling. She won the role of Kirsty in Shortland Street at her first audition.

Angela's interests apart from acting include art, graphic design, music, writing, travel and kickboxing. Angela's performance in the acclaimed New Zealand police drama earned "Lawless" earned her the 1999 New Zealand Television Award for Best Actress. She has reprised her character in two additional television movies.

According to a magazine article in 2007,
"she left to build a new life in Britain, five years ago, currently single she quit acting but still enjoys a glamorous life traveling Europe as a personal assistant in the fashion industry, until recently with top Jewellers Bulgari. 'She seems very settled and happy there,' " according to her former agent.

In other news, Stuart Devenie (the Governor) is still one of NZ's major stage stars, and you can get some updates on current and future projects at http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18211 .

Stephen Papps (Brogard) is likewise busy on stage in Auckland; details at http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=30461 and http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=31021.

And would you believe that Kentucky Sue and Camille (the Governor's wife) starred in a tv series in NZ?  Details at http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=31064 .

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orc, writers and producers of Jack of All Trades, are now the hottest duo in Hollywood, producing "Fringe" for Fox and writing scripts for Transformers 1 and 2 and the upcoming Star Trek movie - details on them at http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=6139 .

A number of the other guest cast and crew (like Blackbeard actor Hori Ahipene and director Charlie Haskell) have been working on  Legend of the Seeker.

Bruce Campbell's latest film, My Name Is Bruce, is out on dvd at all the usual outlets, and of course his hit series Burn Notice will begin its 3rd season sometime later this spring or early summer.  He and Sam Raimi continue to joke and tease each other about whether or not there will be a 4th Evil Dead movie, with Bruce usually pointing to the 4th Indiana Jones movie as evidence that they should quit while they're ahead, and that he's too old to play an action hero.  And then Sam invariably says that Bruce is just trying to get out of having to get back into shape, and adds: "I’m going to kick his butt in shape. I’m gonna say ‘get back in the chainsaw!’ ”

There was a recent interview with Bruce in "El Expresson de Puerto Rico" (link is at
http://www.elexpresso.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2230%3Abruce-campbell-still-the-king-&catid=26%3Afarula&Itemid=34 ) and he has this fascinating revelation about what's next:

Absolutely nothing, and that's what I'm looking forward to!   After season #3 is over this fall, I am going to hike across my home state of Oregon. After that, I go back for another season and start writing a new book, Vagabond: An Actor's Gypsy Life.

OK, OK, the actual movie is The Majestic, starring Jim Carrey.  Bruce plays a character in a  movie-within-the-movie, Sand Pirates of the Sahara, since Carrey plays a 1950's screenwriter.  It's on HBO tomorrow, Mon. 3/30 at 5:15 PM.

About 2 hours into this film, Bruce turns up as a very Errol Flynn-ish character, "Roland, the Intrepid Explorer," in a big duel scene with "The Evil But Handsome Prince Khalid."   Who is played by Cliff Curtis, actor of many ethnicities (Paikea's Maori dad in Whale Rider, the tribal elder Tic-Tic in 10,000 BC, the Latin drug lord Escobar in Blow, "Amir Abdullah" in Three Kings, etc. - even a centaur in the opening credits every week of Hercules!)

Sand Pirates
is a cute parody of old b-movies, the kind that inspired Indiana Jones. And in fact, according to the IMDB, "The golden idol Khalid uses to knock out Emily's father in Sand Pirates of the Sahara was lent to the production by Steven Spielberg and is the same prop used in the opening sequence of Raiders of the Lost Ark. "

Bruce's best line?  "Taste my steel, you dog!"

killed in a brutal murder and the main suspect is the man, Bryant, with
whom she spent last night. Their one night stand is his alibi. Laney is

the most politically explosive cases in Chicago history.

And then she stars in Hush, along with Tori Spelling and Tahmoh Penikett (BSG, Dollhouse) also on LMN next Sun. 4/5 at 2 PM.

Nina is thrilled when her hubby, Noah, suggests they move back to his picturesque hometown. She looks forward to the fresh start, but little does she know that Noah's crazy ex-girlfriend Callie has an unhealthy obsession with her spouse. Sam's new film, co-written with big brother Ivan, is set to come out May 29th.  A trailer can be seen at http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810029193/video   This is from the Ghost House site:

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal adamnion. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

And positive comments from early screenings are at:

http://www.indiewire.com/article/2009/03/16/sxsw_snapshot_sam_raimis_drag_me_to_hell/

I love these two excerpts from above:

It's billed as Raimi's return to a kind of darkly comic horror he did earlier in his career. And indeed, it’s got plenty of blood and guts — it's probably the first time a corpse has ever vomited — but it’s also gleefully schlocky, the kind of brightly colored, pulp horror flick that helped Raimi make his name in the genre (and the polar opposite of the overdone torture flicks that have assaulted us these past few years).

.... It’s basically a mashup of “Thinner” and “The Ring” mixed in human eyeballs pop out of cakes. It’s fun, creepy, well-made, and features a demon-possessed talking goat.

..........................................

....“Drag Me to Hell” feels like the director blowing off twenty years of steam. The slapstick/horror duality that he mastered with his brilliant “Evil Dead” movies, repeatedly and explicitly referenced in the new feature, marks a crowd-pleasing return to form. At once absurdly cheesy and amazingly self-aware, it’s a reminder of the lunacy that brought acclaim to Raimi in the first place.

The script....offers paper-thin characterizations and mostly transparent special effects, but they emerge with such calculated glee that it would appear the director wants his audience to see the mechanics of the ride even as it thrills them. ..... Like Bruce Campbell in the brilliant early scenes of “Evil Dead II,” the best moments of “Drag Me to Hell” occur when the protagonist’s only co-stars are strange and dangerous forces. Needless to say, audience reactions at the Paramount screening last night thought it was a riot.

..... Raimi’s elaborate sequences generally caused laughter—not the nervous kind, but still the sound of contentment. As Christine deals with a series of increasingly ridiculous supernatural conundrums, the room fell for the gags as if they were visual punchlines. Those annoying moments when the soundtrack goes “boo!” rarely occur here. Raimi wants to entertain, so he covers all his bases with frightening images doing comical things. If “Evil Dead 2” relied on the Three Stooges as its primary referent, “Drag Me to Hell” aims more for the Looney Tunes approach, but it’s the same basic playbook. At a time when studios relentlessly borrow from J-horror conventions, Raimi’s new work finds distinction because he borrows from himself.

Dollhouse premieres on Fox at 9 PM Eastern tonight.  This is the new science fiction series starring Eliza Dushku
(Faith from Buffy and Angel, the tough chick in Bring It On, Arnold's daughter in True Lies) as a woman who gets
artificial memories (including abilities) implanted every week to take on various covert missions, then gets her memory
erased.  Sort of a combo of Alias and The Bourne Identity.  It co-stars Tahmoh Penikett (Helo from Battlestar Galactica)
and Amy Acker ("Fred" from Angel) and is written, produced and directed by Joss Whedon (Serenity, Firefly,
Buffy, Angel, etc.)

Plenty of discussion and links to articles, photos etc. at http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27799

It's preceded at 8 PM by a new episode of Sarah Connor (i.e. the Terminator series) which is moving to Fridays.

Science fiction shows almost always get cancelled because no one watches them.  So they get moved to Friday nights
when fewer people are watching tv anyway, so that expectations are lower to begin with.  But fans boo-hoo-hoo when
cancellation comes.... even though theyn tehmselves never did anything to get more people to watch.

So.  If you want lots of good science fiction in primetime, here's what you do:

- watch these shows.
- tell all your friends to watch.
- watch them live, not on dvr later, or by downloading them, or by buying the dvd set a year later - none of
those things help the overnight ratings.
- tell everyone who doesn't them how good they are, and that they need to watch them
- if you end up not liking them, watch anyway, and lie to your friends about how good they are.  :P  If you don't,
networks can easily say "See?  No one ever watches science fiction," and so no one will ever produce something
that you *would* like.  :D
