Thamanna is quite happy because she has paired will all the big stars. Kandein Kadhalai which she did the female lead role is doing well at the box office.

The shooting of the film Thillangadi and Sura is going on. Thamanna recently shared her cinema experiences with the media people. She said,” I am currently acting in Paiya, Thillangadi and Sura. Paiya is being released for Pongal.

I want pair with Kamal. If I get the chance I will not miss it. Among actresses I like Asin and Trisha very much. They are best actors and they have lot of fans. Tamil cinema is in very good condition now. I am really very happy to be part of it.

I have no intention of acting in Hindi cinema. If I get a good story I might act in a Hindi film. I will not act in swimming suits. I have been signed for two Telugu films. I have no intention of getting married now. If any body says that he is in love with me, my reply will depend on the person concerned. We cannot say that actresses go to act in Hindi films to earn money.

There is chance to become internationally fame if one acts in Hindi films. It is a beautiful experience to act with Vijay in Sura. He is a hard worker. In Hindi, Madhuri Dixit is my favourite actress. Hrithik Roshan is my favourite hero. Sachin is my favourite cricketer. If I ahd not come to act, I would have been a doctor. I know English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. My mother tongue is Hindi.’

Trisha hates heavy jewels; she likes to wear thin stylish diamond studded jewels.

Trisha is mad after sea food. She loves crabs, prawns and fishes. In fact she is a slave to the crabs prepared in Martin Restaurant. It was Nagarjuna who had introduced to her this hotel.

Her best choice is Tamil music. Her favourite song is Munbe Vaa En Anbe Vaa composed by A R Rahman. Never a day passes without her murmuring this song. Her other favourite song is Mayil Irage.

Trisha has exclusively created a blog for her friends. Only her friends can read about her in this blog. Trisha has never given this blog address to anyone.

Trisha always stays in Hotel Taj Bhanjara in Hyderabad. Her sentiment room is in the second floor of this hotel.

She is not for high heels because her height is five feet seven inches. Many never knew that she was a basket ball champion in her college days. In her age of 14 she was on strict diet and reduced her weight. Till now she is ever slim queen.

Trisha's Hindi floors AkshayTrisha, all set to begin shooting for her Bollywood debut Khatta Meetha, made a flying visit to Chennai to meet her family before the shoot starts. She returned from New York where she was shooting with Simbu for Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. Now she is in Mumbai for Priyadarshan's film.

Though Trisha has not dubbed for her Tamil and Telugu films, she floored Akshay Kumar when she was able to converse with him in fluent Hindi. Looks like she is taking her debut very seriously and is preparing to dub for her Hindi films. Way to go Trisha!

Trisha's Bollywood film beginsThe shooting of reigning actress Trisha's debut Hindi film Khatta Meetha, being directed by her mentor Priyadarshan with Akshay Kumar as hero, has finally started in a remote village in Baramati, 100 kilometres from Pune.

Trisha, who was shooting with Tamil actor Simbu in New York for Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, made a flying visit to Chennai to get the blessings of her grandmother and mother before leaving for Pune.

According to sources, Trisha plays two different avatars in this film, though it’s not a double role. The plot requires her to play two characters in different time periods, it is said. Unlike Priyadarshan's earlier slapstick comedies with Akshay, Khatta Meetha will be a family film with lots of scope for the actress to perform.

Meanwhile, Trisha has signed up opposite Tollywood's mass hero Jr. NTR for the first time for Brindavanam, directed by Vamsi Paidipalli and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.  This film is likely to start rolling in the second half of November.

For many reasons, Bollywood continues to be the every Southern actor's dream destination. While our directors are pretty keen to cast Mumbai gals in their movies, our leading ladies jump at even the slightest opportunity to be a part of a Hindi flick. Each and every top Kollywood actress is busy at this very moment, either reading Hindi scripts or acting in Hindi movies. While we hear that Asin has bought an apartment for herself and one more for her parents in Mumbai, there are others like Trisha, who insist Chennai will always be her base, because that's where she began her acting career. “South Indian cinema is very special to me. I am happy to make my debut in Hindi in a movie directed by Priyadharshan. But that does not mean I will move to Mumbai and forget my roots. I am an actress and will pursue my art in any language, so long as the script is good,” says a very grounded and sure-footed Trisha.

Brahmanandam's fee greater than Trisha's!Is it possible for a comedian like Brahmanandam in Telugu or Vadivelu in Tamil to overtake a leading heroine in terms of remuneration? "Impossible"  would be the immediate response from almost everyone in Kollywood and Tollywood, where top heroines think it is their right to charge one crore or more as their salary. Exceptions are everywhere and here comes one!

According to latest reports, popular Tamil-Telugu comedian Brahmanandam (whose popularity rose with his extraordinary performances in Mozhi and Saroja) has been offered Rs. 80 lakhs for Victory Venkatesh and voluptuous beauty Trisha's Telugu flick Namo Venkatesha.

Some insiders reveal that that Trisha had earlier demanded one crore as her remuneration in this movie, but later reduced it to 60-70 lakhs, thus lagging far behind Brahmanandam!

Namo Venkatesa, being directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Anil Sunkara, Achanta Gopinath and Achanta Ram under the banner of 14 Reels Entertainment, is said to be a complete family entertainer featuring Venkatesh in the role of a ventriloquist.

Gopi Mohan is the man behind the story, script and dialogues. Director Sreenu Vaitla himself wields the camera. Trisha is pairing up with Venkatesh for second time after the tremendous success of their Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule (2007).

The team of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ is busy with its last schedule of shooting in New York. While the Goutham Menon and the team flew a couple of days before, Silambarasan and Trisha took their flight on 16th October.

Diwali or no Diwali, stars are busy at work and same way the team of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ had to pass the Diwali day in NY (How sad…). But then, hoping to create an unseen charm Silambarasan and Trisha are gearing up with their best for this Goutham Menon product.

We hear that movie will be a breezy romantic entertainer and it has been shot across the exotic locales of Chennai, Kerala and Malta Island. Goutham makes sure his audiences are taken on a visual trip around the locations he shoots. And now we can be sure to see the best locales of NY.

Director Priyadarshan who introduced Trisha in the Tamil film Lesa Lesa is now introducing her in the Hindi film Khatta Meeta. Priyadarshan has appointed the best costume designer to transform Trisha.

Trisha while speaking to the media while leaving for Mumbai said,” Khatta Meeta is a beautiful script. When Priyadarshan narrated me the story and my role, I felt that I should not miss this film.

I am pairing with Akshay Kumar in this film. My role is equivalent to the role of the hero. I am donning two different kinds of roles in this film. One role is a village girl role and the other one is of the modern girl role.

My dress and my face appearance will be in a new style. Since Hindi was my second language in school, I know Hindi well. Hence there is no problem for me to act in a Hindi film. But now I am studying the Mumbai dialect Hindi. I am going for a special class to learn this dialect.

Manikandan from our place is handling the camera. Popular Mumbai’s music composer Preetham is composing the music for this film. I have given three months continuous call sheet for this film.

There is no plan for me to settle in Mumbai. I will stay in the hotel for three months. In Tamil I am acting in Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya and in Telugu I am acting in a film titled Namo Venkatesha.”

Actress Trisha has let out many things from her heart in an exclusive tete-tete with IndiaGlitz.com. Here is it for our dear readers…

How do you manage your schedules, especially while working in both Tamil and Telugu?

Right now I don’t sign too many films. I only sign two films at a time and so it is quite easy to manage. And I work for 20 -22 days a month so this way I always have some free days in case someone meets and wants to finish any backlogs. I don’t work like before and am very choosy about films these days. In fact I haven’t signed anything new as of now. I have put everything on hold for the time being and am waiting for something exciting, a film that gives me a really good character. So it is always easy to manage and I have got used to working in both the languages and divide my time equally between Chennai and Hyderabad.

You are looking much more glamorous…

Oh really!! Thank you very much for that. All I would say is that I have got a little more conscious of my health, my diet, workouts and the likes. I think it hits you at some point in your life and everybody seems to be so health conscious these days. I mean every actor and actress they end at the gym all the time and I think that it is really important to feel good. Am saying this not just as an actress but as a person I feel that it is really important to be fit.

Have you signed any Bollywood films?

Yeah, I have signed a deal with Akshay Kumar’s home productions. It is a three film deal and the first one is to be directed by Priyadarshan, who is my mentor. In fact, he is the one who launched my film career. And I have no plans to move to Bollywood. I have signed the deal because I wanted to do something different and I really wanted to do a film with Priyan again. I generally don’t plan as I believe in taking each day as it comes. So I don’t really have any future plans as of now.

Aren’t most of the characters in Hindi glamorous?

No, I don’t see it that way and I beg to differ. The advantage that you’ve got with Hindi films is that there is lot of variety in female characters. You take the case of Priyanka Chopra in ‘Fashion’, which is a very glamorous role and is followed by a different portrayal in ‘Kaminey’. I love the way they portray female characters and being glamorous isn’t a sin after all people that is what people want to see. I think decent glamour is a necessity in a film.

Do you think actresses get equally important roles when compared with the heroes?

No definitely not. It is very rarely that heroines get to do roles that are very important. But you have to accept the fact that the film industry is male dominated and heroes are given more important characters. But these days there are certain filmmakers who feel the need to give importance to the role of a heroine and get the best performance out of her and I have been lucky to get a chance to work with filmmakers like these all along my career.

Are you planning to do a powerful character like Anushka’s in ‘Arundhathe’?

I think ‘Arundhathe’ is a great film and it is very rarely that a heroine gets to do a film like that. I would love to be part of a film like that. It really was a great boost to Anushka. But then there are a lot of female centric characters and you have to choose one that is really good. So if I do come across something then I will definitely be interested.

Any reason behind you signing all your films opposite established stars?

There is no reason as such. I haven’t been offered any role opposite a newcomer in the recent past. I am very choosy about my characters. I look for good role even under a big banner and these days my number one priority is the director. If it is a good director then more than anything else I would be interested in the film irrespective of it being opposite any newcomer or an established star.

Would you mind doing art films?

Yeah I would like to. Had you asked me the question a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have been sure. I was very happy doing commercial films. I liked all those roles, the dance, the drama and the likes. I am at that stage of my career where I can afford to be choosy and pick one that is really different.

What about the recent gossips circulating on the web?

I have stopped reacting to gossips. I just look at it this way- for an artist, any publicity, be it good or bad, is publicity. At least you are spoken about and are very popular. I just smile at those and ignore them completely.

What have you learnt from the industry as an artist over the years?

All I would say, to be very honest, is that I have learnt to treat acting like any other 9-6 job. It is so important to know when to detach yourself and when to attach yourself. I absolutely love my work and after I am done with it, I am totally cut off. I mean I have my own life, my friends and other things to do. So that’s about it.

Any social awareness campaigns that you are associated with?

I have a fan club started by a group of girls from Tamil Nadu. I generally don’t believe in fan clubs and am not very appreciative of the idea because I don’t believe in hyping up a film or the actors or the likes. But this fan club is something I really do appreciate because it is involved in a lot of social awareness campaigns, especially for cancer. They adopt a lot of children and do a lot of charity. Whenever I am free I love to give whatever support that I can and if I get publicity for being associated with some of these social awareness campaigns then it is really great. Again these people don’t put up hoardings and the likes at the theatres whenever a film of mine releases. Instead, they go to a cancer hospital; spend time with the kids and the likes. So that is something that I absolutely love to be involved with and it is very encouraging.

What is your take on the fact that all directors are behind glamour?

It is not true that all directors are behind glamour. I don’t see it that way because what audience want when they go to watch a film is a lot of color, brightness and glamour and there is nothing wrong in giving it to them as long as you know where to draw the line and long as it isn’t vulgar or something like that. As far as I am concerned, if I go to watch a film, I would love to see a lot of brightness, well dressed actors and actresses and the likes. As far as directors are concerned, I don’t believe that everyone looks for glamour. I have come across some wonderful people who only want to get a performance out of you, want you to look good and who do everything to project you well. I think glamour is a very important aspect of a film and is not something that should be treated as bad as long as you know where to draw the line.

Your take on the Bikini trend?

Honestly, I think the whole bikini trend has become a big joke because it is not a big deal. I mean if you are comfortable wearing it, have a great body and the film demands it then go ahead because there is nothing wrong in it. Personally, I am not very comfortable wearing one. So that’s it.

The petite beauty Trisha has been ruling the roost in southern industries till date. She is one of the very few heroines who have dominated both Telugu and Tamil. Soon, she is all set to make her debut in Bollywood as well. Trisha assures southern film fans that even though she is doing a Bollywood film, she is not picking up and moving to Mumbai.

Although she is one among the front runner actresses, she has not done her own dubbing till date. Most probably, as she was born in Kerala, Malayalam is her mother tongue and she might find it difficult to be fluent in other languages. But now she has been working hard on her Hindi lines so she can start out to dub with her own voice for her Bollywood project! Meanwhile she said that this Hindi movie will be a good launch for her in Bollywood and her focus would be to prove her mettle as an actress.

In a recent interview Trisha shared her thoughts about what is more important to become a heroine. She said that the first thing to become a heroine is to be beautiful. She added that talks about performance come later but first thing that is noticed is the beauty of the heroine. Sources reveal that Trisha’s demand is so high that she would have been the heroine of all the movies if her call sheets were not full.

Good going gal… we would like to see you rock the Bolly audience too!

vijay-gallery-010With the entry of corporate in Tamil film industry; the costs of production as well as salary of the actors have also increased. An average of 120 films is being released every year. Rs 500 crores are being invested and business is done upto 1000 crores. This is inclusive of overseas rights. Tamil Producers would always like to invest a small amount and would like to yield more profit. But Corporates invest more money and tries to gain more profit. But if the film does not do well they incur heavy losses. In recent times many of such corporate houses had a great downfall because of the heavy losses they incur.

Since the production costs have been escalated, the salary of the actors has increased unimaginably.

Some of the salaries received by some of the actresses and actors are as follows

Nayanthara is still the number one in the field and she receives salary between Rs 60 to Rs 75 Lakhs. Trisha gets between Rs 30 to Rs 75 Lakhs. Thamanna demands between Rs 40 to Rs 60 Lakhs. Shreya’s take home pay is between Rs 50 to Rs 60 Lakhs.

Vikram is paid between Rs 3 to 5 Crores. Earlier he used to be paid Rs 40 Lakhs. Ajith is paid Rs 6 Crores and Surya’s salary is paid between Rs 5 to Rs 6 Crores. Vinay who had been paid Rs 1 Crore is now receiving a salary of Rs 2 to Rs 3 Crores. The Producers Council are requesting the actors to reduce the salary.

"Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya" by Goutham Menon is all set to get over and to hit the screens soon. And so now, the details about the script is being spilled out.

Official sources say that the script of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya was a taken from Writer Ashokamithran's short novel titled "Karaindha Nizhalgal". It portrays the problems faced by the people in the cine Industry.

It portrays not only the few who succeeded, but also the life of all those whose life were pathetic. And Gowtham Menon took such a character who is a Assistant Director and who strives hard to succeed in life. He has also blended the story with a perfect Love Story in it.

In this film, Chimbu faces a lot of shames and those scenes will surely make the audience to weep. And so, this movie will take off the bad boy image of Silambarasan.

Let us wait and watch the play!!!

Iceland's capital city Reykjavik was the venue of the famous chess match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky four decades ago. Now Iceland, the coolest place in the world, is the hottest spot for Indian movie makers. Shooting at the unexplored locations or rather the glaciers and sprawling beaches is the in thing for Indian moviemakers.

Just back from Iceland after a hectic 25-day shoot for the Telugu film Namo Venkatesa is Kollywood's dream girl Trisha. A travel freak, Trisha said she was simply bowled over by the black beaches and the experience of shooting at Blue Lagoon with the temperature hovering at minus one degree. "For a song it was a picture-perfect spot,” said Trisha, reliving those exciting moments in an exotic location.

Far from the madding crowd was the perfect way for Trisha to unwind after a hectic schedule of Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya. Now with her Bollywood debut round the corner – the shoot of Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetha about to start – Trisha said there are no complaints for her career graph.

Along the way, Trisha had to decline a few Tamil and Telugu offers to facilitate her Bollywood entry. Clear in her priorities, Trisha is happy she made this choice to migrate to Bollywood.

This has happened already Vijay’s Kuruvi, where Nayanthara was first opted to star him opposite in the female lead role and then all of sudden of Trisha replacing her. No valid reasons of replacing this missy and now similar scenarios seems to be prevailing with K.S. Ravikumar’s next project that will gear up after completing Jaggubhai.

Vikram plays dual roles and great pursuit for actresses by both Director K.S.Ravikumar and Producer Mohan Natarajan of Rajakaliamman Pictures. The film has couple of heroines where stylish sleek alluring missy Ileana has been roped and Nayanthara was opted to play another heroine. But, then for unknown reasons, there started a slight tug-of-war between Nayanthara and Trisha. Now, K.S.Ravikumar is in deep perplexed moods on deciding whom to rope in. Well, any guesses how Trisha appeared on this scene? Of course, Trisha happens to be the close pet of Vikram and probably it would have been his suggestion of roping in Trisha.

Perhaps, you would have had your adrenalin shot on hearing Simbhu shaking hands with Nayanthara recently in a party. Fine! Are you looking out for the detailed scenario on this peeping tom issue? We have it for you.

Kollywood stars usually freak out throwing parties regularly at ‘The Park’ Hotel in Chennai where you’ll have the top celebrities Vijay, Vishal, Simbhu, Nayanthara, Trisha, Reema Sen and many others swaying in. Recently, Trisha had hosted a night party where she had a special invitation for Nayanthara. Without her attention, Trisha suddenly buzzed Simbhu about Nayan’s presence in the discotheque and our chap was there in few minutes. Both shook their hands and went on for a jovial chat.

After Nayanthara broke up with her relationship with Simbhu, she started topping the chart sweeping over Trisha’s market. Probably, this would have pushed Trisha to get on Nayan by linking her with Simbhu again. Earlier, during Tamil Nadu Artists Association strike that was held last month, Trisha who was seated next to Nayanthara suddenly disappeared letting in Simbhu to take the seat next to Nayanthara.

Wherever young Tamil actress Trisha goes, controversies seem to follow her like a shadow. The print media here was abuzz with news that Trisha, who had gone to a hotel in the city with her friends, had entered into an "unsavoury" argument with former-India cricketer Hemang Badani. Trisha has, however, issued a stern denial about the incident and said that certain "vested interests" have been spreading rumours about her with an aim to malign her image. "I won't keep mum from now onwards. Whosoever writes or says anything bad about me, I won't mind taking them to court. While it was true that I had been to a star-hotel with my friends, neither did cricketer Badani come there nor did I enter into a verbal duel with him," says Trisha. Hemang Badani, on the other hand, was not available for a comment on the alleged incident.

Southern actress Trisha describes her entry into Bollywood as dream debut and thanks her mentor, filmmaker Priyadarshan, who launched her in Tamil movies with 'Lesa Lesa' seven years ago, for now introducing her to Hindi films as well.

Priyan has signed Trisha for the Hindi movie 'Khatta Meetha' opposite Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.

'My lucky director Priyadarshan, who introduced me in Tamil movies, is giving me a break in Hindi films too. After my debut in 'Lesa, Lesa', I was reticent about my career. Now with a firm foot in southern cinema, things have worked out for Bollywood as well, thanks to Priyadarshan. I have a meaty role on par with Akshay in the movie,' Trisha told IANS.

The former Miss Chennai has one more reason to feel happy about her association with Akshay. Yes, she has signed on the dotted lines for two more Hindi movies to be made by the Akshay's production house, Hari Om Productions.

'I should consider myself lucky. Though I had several offers from Bollywood earlier, I couldn't accommodate the dates as I was busy with Tamil and Telugu films. Now the moment has come and that too in a big way. Three movies and a dream debut opposite Akshay Kumar, that too directed by my mentor Priyadarshan,' she says with a vivacious smile.

Asked will she bid adieu to south Indian films now, Trisha said: 'No. I have done over 30 films in various south Indian languages. Why do you think I should say bye to my native?'

She also rubbished rumours that she had pulled out of 'Aadukalam'.

'I am extremely happy to be part of the movie directed by Vettrimaran. However, if the dates allotted for the film will clash with my Hindi movies, I will have to rethink about it. But as of now, the rumours are baseless,' she said.

The actress is optimistic about stiff competition in Bollywood.

'There is competition everywhere. It keeps one going. When I entered southern film industry, Simran and Jyothika were ruling the roost. Competition makes you give your best. And I am ready for the game,' she said.

The actress is recently said to have declined to star opposite Dhanush in Aadukalam, as she does not have sufficient dates to allocate. But Trisha has assured all her fans and well-wishers that she will continue to work in Tamil and Telugu films.

Popular Tamil actress Trisha is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar, but insists that her foray into Hindi films shouldn't be seen as competing with Asin.
"“I neither wanted frantically to do a Hindi film nor do I treat Asin as my competitor. All I'm concerned about is the films I'm starring in; I hardly have the time to check and monitor others' career," said Trisha.

“Some people are spreading rumours that my Hindi film effort is to keep Asin in check. They want to portray me as her competitor. The fact of the matter is that Akshay was very impressed by my performance in Abhiyum Naanum and wanted to cast me in the film Kattha Meetha, which would be his home production," she added.

"I'm extremely happy that Priyadarshan, who introduced me in Tamil films with Laysa Laysa some years ago, would be doing the same in Hindi films,” Trisha said.

Trisha, a self-confessed fan of A.R. Rahman, was at Hyderabad, busy shooting for a Telugu film on the day he won the Oscars. She got up early in the morning to watch the entire Oscars ceremony live. And when Rahman's name was announced, Trisha screamed and shouted so much that the hotel staff had to come and calm her down, and reduce the TV volume as guests were sleeping in adjacent rooms.

Trisha has always been a Rahman fan since school, and it was only because he was composing for Enakku 20 Unakku 18 that she actually went ahead and signed the film. Rahman was the music director for many of her later films too. "Nobody can forget the songs 'Hey goodbye nanba' and 'Yakkai Thiri' from Ayutha Ezhuthu," says Trisha.

The actress is currently shooting for Gautham Menon's Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, which again has A.R. Rahman composing music. She has agreed attend the film's audio release function only if Gautham promises to give her a seat next to Rahman!

With Nayantara refusing to give up the numero uno tag, and with Tamannah posing to be a serious contender for it, industry sources say Trisha is desperate to make her mark. The actress most known for her carefree spirit is finally joining the rat race seriously, pundits aver.

One of the biggest reasons for this could be her fallout with Ilaya Thalapathy, one that has cost her dearly, as she had been his heroine four times. Losing that coveted place to Nayantara was perceived as another step towards her plummeting popularity.

But the actress is making amends, and if all it takes is an extra dose of glamour, the actress is said to be ready to walk the extra mile. If she has agreed to wear a bikini in ‘Sarvam’, the actress is said to have a glamorous makeover for her next project with Dhanush, ‘Aadukalam’.

The actress has reportedly agreed to do never before glamour sequences, including a romantic bathroom scene.
