Imagine this...I haven't seen the film yet here in South Africa. Only being
reading tons of essays on the film. Should make interesting viewing when time
comes.

Is he Friends with Tom Waits...does he make films with Jim...Kinda Frank
Zappa's work?

broken flowers also has sharon stone.. that's another "what happened to jim?"
question I think.
well ı love him every way.

i watched broken flowers and didn't like it so much. It was
different yes, but not in a good way..Only the ending reminded me -
as somebody said- that it was a jim jarmusch film. I expect films
more like mystery train, dead man, down by law and the other great
films of him. I like his way of telling something really important
with a few words, with facial expression and of course music. He
does not simplificate the subject but he gets rid of the unnecesary
pleonasm and chooses a plain way to make the people get what he
really thinks and wants to say. In this sense he is a minimalist
person, i think. Also the soundtrack of his films are really
amazing, because they are full of tom waits', john lurie's, neil
young's beautiful songs..-of course there are many great different
bands and singers too- especially "dead man", is full of same guitar
riffs of neil young, but it did not bother me even for one second. I
thought how well the film and music can harmonize with each other. I
know that he directed a few videos of talking heads, tom waits, neil
young and jack white. He is a really great man with his personality,
his films, his style, his choice about choosing friends, his
ideology. By the way i am from turkey and i cant find so many people
to discuss about jim jarmusch , because they dont even know him.
Some of them have watched coffee and cigarettes without wondering
who the director is :) if you want to add or discuss anything about
him i will be pleased..

costline city called Guarujá inside of one most importants states from my
country, São Paulo, Brazil. I work in comercial area(boring, you can
picture, huh?).
Well not exactly answering your questions, my interesting about this great
film maker started through another great artist: Tom Waits. Yes, your music
was my first love. And also your direct responsible.Because him living above
the same atmosphere from the director's particular black-and-white
planet. The early germany work from Win Wenders is another influence that i
could agree. My first contact with this website was accidental. My favorite
movie and your more strongest at moment in my opinion is Ghost Dog. Because
in this film he was capable to tell a straight-story without leave behind
your original style. He was great successfull.A auter without doubt, my
friend. And more, in the original classic french way. Paraphasing a closer
friend yours J.Deep,"he is a independent angel". He never take off your
particular way. Even when is looking for a way to viable your projects. He
is unique in U.S.Soil(except David Lynch, of course). And that's it. Yes,
you can to quote my name in your project.

Saw the film opening night. Very different from any other Jarmusch
film (in a good way!). Some great performances from the female cast
members and an ending that lets everybody know this is a Jarmusch film.
Cheers John

Tom Waits' new album is out now. If you are a T.W. fan you will
enjoy. I did see the Letterman interview. Tom is great with Dave and
his appearances are always entertaining. I've seen Tom on the cover
of many magazines lately so check out your local Barnes & Noble etc.
Cheers John
hey did anyone happen to catch tom on letterman last night? my
roomate told me about it, but i missed the performance. This guy's
only getting better with age.
i couldn't find any clips from the show, but i did score his new mp3
from his site:
http://media-02.epitaph.com/Tom_Waits/index.html
this new album sounds really cool.
GHOST DOG: THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI
** midnight, this weekend, Friday night **
At the Pioneer Theater, 155 East 3rd Street, at Avenue A.
See a map: http://tinyurl.com/4wqpp
Take the F or V train to Lower East Side / 2nd Avenue, walk up to 3rd
street, and over to Avenue A.
Tickets are available half hour before each show. Make plans now to
show up then!
Recently, I've read really good interviews with Jim Jarmusch. Two of
the best in years. One is in the new issue of Stop Smiling magazine
(on your newstands now or you can order it online). The other you
can find here: http://www.erratamag.com/article/jarmusch-extras --
it's leftovers from an interview in Paste magazine which you can also
read online (it's linked).

WOW!! just saw coffee and cigarettes...its the first nite playing in
rochester..and it was better than i hoped for...its amazing how 18
years of film can come together so beautifully...only jim jarmusch
can pull something so incredible off!!! my favorite was definatly the
discussion between iggy pop and tom waits(of course with my strange
tom waits obsession..)....roberto binigni..just as fucking hilarious
as he was in down by law...anyways what im saying is that it was
AMAzing....not something you wanna miss....
~allie~
www.wavemux.com
how to contact jim or company?
i bought a counterfeit pic from a film of his and i want to inform
the proper people. i thougth i was buying real press picture.
anyone know who to contact?
Saw the film over the weekend. I remember Jarmusch saying in an
interview that his original intent was to have this film as a
video/dvd only release. I think Jarmusch had the right idea!
Although there were a few enjoyable moments (in the second half) the
first half seemed to go nowhere. The Tom Waits/Iggy Pop short in the
first half was the highlight and things really picked up with Jack
and Meg White and then from there on it kept getting better.

Murray & Jarmusch to Reteam on a Comedy Source: The Hollywood
Reporter Thursday, May 20, 2004
Bill Murray is set to star in a yet-to-be-titled Jim Jarmusch comedy
that will shoot in the summer, says The Hollywood Reporter. The film
will shoot in upstate New York and is expected to be in the $8
million-$10 million bracket, depending on final cast.
Murray appears in Jarmusch's latest movie Coffee and Cigarettes, in
which he discusses the pros and cons of caffeine and nicotine with
the Wu-Tang Clan rappers RZA and GZA. It recently opened in North
America.
Jarmusch has reportedly been chasing Murray for some time for this
role. The actor finally agreed to take the part if the picture could
be fast-tracked into production to fit his schedule. Other cast
members have yet to be locked down.
