I have been a big matthew broderick fan since I was 12 and still am. I
also give him a party on his birthday and that is my fave holiday
besides halloween and christmas. amber
April 1, 2005 - The film The Producers, which is currently shooting at
Steiner Studios, is supporting more than New York City's production
industry! On March 14, the production sold seats during the filming of
a scene at the St. James Theatre. Audience members wore 1950's
clothing and were featured as extras in the film. Ticket sales
benefited FoodChange,
which provides food to the hungry in New York City.
"This event is an excellent example of the many ways in which the
production industry benefits our local communities," Katherine Oliver,
Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting,
said. "New York City is thrilled to host a production that is so
committed to giving back."
OMG! Itīs a pity they smoke.
When I was in NYC, the last day I saw a limo. I wasnīt too close but
I saw two people looked like the couple. He was with the open window
smoking and drinking. I though they werenīt that guys...but now I
have my doubts.

It was a pity I knew when the show was going to start around that
days...but my father was still thinking about the date of going to
NYC. I didnīt even know it until December.

This was a great play. Matthew was hilarious. Once again, as in all
his other shows, the audience applauded his entrance. The whole show
was great, very funny. He came out afterwards and signed playbills.
SJP was there. They were so polite and down to earth. The only
upsetting thing was that when they walked away, they both pulled out
cigarettes and began to smoke. It's none of my business what they
do, but I swear Matthew said they both quit, for the baby. So I was
a bit upset to see them both smoking.

It appears as if, because of the Reagan funeral coverage, he's not
going to be on The View until next Wed the 16th. And I thought he
was going to be on Conan tonight, Friday, but that's not what Conan
said last night. Oh well...
He does look a bit tired, but then again, he has his child and all
these movies he's been promoting.
PS: THe cast of the Stepford Wives is supposed to be on The View on
Friday
Ok I saw some pictures from these last months....and Iīve seen that
Matthew is a little bit tired, he needs to have a rest. Why I say
this? well because I am just wondering if he has changed a little
bit his aspect..
What do you think???
Their last day in the show was April 4. Great response from the audience.
Cast get together afterward. They have been on to other projects -- Nathan
working on The Frogs, his next Broadway show, and Matthew back for pick
ups with Stepford Wives. Still filming!

Is this the last night for Matthew and Nathan Lane to be in the
Producers? I thought I read that it was through April. I wonder
how the last performance went, and what they did to acknowledge
their leaving.

I have just checked the cast list of "The Producers" at Imdb.com and
they are as follows:
Nathan Lane .... Max Bialystock
Matthew Broderick .... Leo Bloom
Nicole Kidman .... Ulla
Will Ferrell .... Franz Liebkind
Roger Bart .... Carmen Ghia
Gary Beach .... Roger De Bris
As I wish, almost all the stars in the original cast will shoot the
film. To my surprise, it is Nicole Kidman AGAIN who will part with
Matthew. It will be great and, of course, I am sure I will
watch "Stepford Wives" if I can!

Hey, I just saw the trailers for The stepford Wives and The Last Shot
(formerly called Providence) They both look great! I'm especially
looking forward to The Last Shot. It looks very funny. If you got to
Yahoo movies and type in the movie title, it'll come up to a site
with a link to the trailer. Check it out!

I caught the end of SJP's acceptance speech. It was so sweet! She
said thank you to her husband because she didn't want to get in
trouble, referring to the last awards show when she didn't mention
his name. It started all these rumors that they were separating.
Did anyone watched the Late Show in 22nd Jan? I have watched it and
it's really entertaining. I luv the part Matthew talked about his
drving licence and I laughed out loud although it was already
midnight.

Late Show With David Letterman
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
WNEM Jan 22 11:35pm Add to My Calendar
Series/Talk, 62 Mins.
Actor Matthew Broderick.
Original Airdate: January 22, 2004.
I saw the show twice in the past two weeks and it was
wonderful. Lots of new lines and so much energy. I saw Nathan
and Matthew in their first show back on 12/30. SJP was sitting
nearby and got a big laugh when Matthew dropped his cane in
the last number (the only big flub from either on their first night
back -- but Matthew was VERY nervous before the show, though
he looked just fine once he got on stage). He scrambled to pick
it up and Nathan gave him a loving nudge on the cheek. On New
Year's Eve, SJP was back again to see the show and this time
brought James who spent part of the show in Daddy's dressing
room before going home with his babysitter. He's a real cutie.
I've seen and visited with a number of the cast members when
we retreat to the restaurant next door. They're on a natural high.
It's a wonderfully revived show and now three hours long
including intermission.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick will reprise
their acclaimed performances in the hit musical "The Producers" once
more -- in a film version of the Broadway hit scheduled for Christmas
2005.
Lane and Broderick, who recently returned to Mel Brooks' Broadway
show 22 months after ending their run as originators of the lead
roles of Bialystock and Bloom, will begin filming next January, Simon
Halls, the spokesman for both actors, said on Wednesday.
"They are very excited," Halls said in a telephone interview from his
California office. "These are roles of a lifetime."
The Broadway show won a record 12 Tony Awards after its April 2001
opening, including best actor in a musical for Lane, best script for
Brooks and Thomas Meehan, and best director for Susan Stroman.
After playing to packed audiences for more than a year, the show
began to dip at the box office following the departure of Lane and
Broderick from the cast.
With the two stars back on board -- at a rate of $100,000 a week each
for their 14-week reprise -- the show grossed $1.6 million for the
week ending on Sunday, the best box office return in Broadway
history, The New York Times reported.
The film of the musical will be the third incarnation of the
property. The Broadway show is based on Brooks' 1968 film comedy "The
Producers," starring Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.
The movie musical will be directed by Stroman, who will be steering
her first feature film, Halls said. Brooks will co-write the
screenplay with Meehan and produce the film in conjunction with
Universal Pictures, a unit of Vivendi Universal SA.
Welcome!
Great news regarding The Producers...it's hit another record!
NEW YORK - With Nathan Lane (news) and Matthew Broderick (news) back
in the show, "The Producers" grossed a record $1,600,243 for eight
performances last week, spokesman John Barlow said Monday.
Barlow said the figure was boosted by premium $480 orchestra tickets
and a special $600 ticket price for New Year's Eve.
"They sold a lot of them," Barlow added, referring to the $600
tickets. "I think that's part of why the gross was so high."
Initially, the show's producers had planned to sell New Year's Eve
tickets for $1,500, a deal which was to have included a post-
performance dinner. That event was canceled after only a few tickets
were sold.
Lane and Broderick, who are reportedly earning $100,000 a week,
returned to the musical Dec. 30. They will remain in the show through
April 4. The musical is almost sold out through their engagement.
Even without Lane and Broderick, the musical did well during
Christmas week. For the week ending Dec. 28, when Fred Applegate and
Don Stephenson played the leads in the Mel Brooks (news)
musical, "The Producers" grossed $1,042,163, playing to more than 95
percent capacity

My name is Clement, I am a Chinese and I am also a BIG BIG fan of The
Producers, especially the cast of Lane and Broderick. I have already
bought the OBC recording and i am planning to but its Recording DVD
and the Libretto! This is my new (first) group of The Producers:

All welcome! Thank you to let me join the group.
Does MB hit the stage tonight, or tomorrow night? I'm surprised
that no talk shows or anyone is doing something about the Producers
having the stars come back for a few months. Guess everyone's too
busy getting ready for the opening!
Ellen
We all love him he is such a great person and seriously his family is
