Kellie Martin's Biography
Kellie Noelle Martin was born on October 16, 1975, in Riverside, California.
Kellie began acting at the age of seven, thanks mainly to her Aunt Rhonda, who
arranged for Kellie to audition for Michael Landon's Father Murphy series. Since
then, her career has been a series of leaps and bounds. Probably her best known
role was Becca Thacher in Life Goes On. Kellie's other credits include Christy,
Face on the Milk Carton, Hidden in Silence, On the Edge of Innocence, Crisis
Center, and *many* others. Most recently, Kellie starred in the new tv movie
About Sarah. And, she has just joined the cast of NBC's ER as third-year med
student Lucy Knight.
Before taking time off from school for ER, Kellie attended Yale University
majoring in Art History. "I'm in school for the love of it" she says. "I intend
to get a degree. I'm even toying with the idea of going on to graduate school in
Art History. I'd love to have a job at the MET [New York's Metropolitan Museum
of Art]." "Show business is such a roller-coaster life. I'd like to have my
degree and a lot of options." While at school, Kellie has also enjoyed writing
for the Yale Daily News.
In May of 1999, Kellie was wed to Columbia Law Student Keith Christian, her
boyfriend of several years. Keith proposed while the two were touring the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. "He pulled out this little box and I said 'yes'
before he could ask the question," said Kellie. They tied the knot in Polson,
Montana, Keith's home town. "I could learn a million lines for anything, but not
for my wedding. I barely got the words out--I was literally getting choked up,"
Kellie said afterwards.
Kellie Martin’s Milestones

LUPUS AWARENESS
What has Kellie been doing to increase awareness of lupus?
For starters, she has addressed the U.N. Please see this page for more
details... http://www.kellie.com/articles/lupus2.html
Kellie is working so hard to increase awareness about lupus. It was obviously a
trying time in Kellie's life (and that of her family and friends too) when in
July of 1998, her 19-year-old sister, Heather, was misdiagnosed and died very
suddenly from lupus. I would hope that it is somewhat therapeutic for Kellie to
know that she could be helping potentially thousands or eventually millions of
people not to have to face a misdiagnosis of this terrible and deadly disease.
Quotes:
"I realize I don't know how to get drunk and have fun, how to hang out, party,
be a teenager and chill out. But acting was my choice." -- Parade June 25, 1995
"I wouldn't want to be a superstar, like Julia Roberts or Madonna, and be on the
cover of 'US' magazine when I'm twenty - that's how you know you're really hot.
I'd rather have a long respected career."

Kellie hasn't had a chance to do this type of role yet...but according to her
she wants to be in film "for the long haul." I know she'll get her chance.

1976 First appearance in features (as baby), in "Pleasantville".
1982 TV debut at age 7 on Michael Landon's series "Father Murphy" (NBC);
landed role partly because her aunt was the nanny to Landon's children.
1986 TV-movie debut in "Help Wanted: Kids" (ABC).
1986 Feature film debut (adult) in "Jumpin' Jack Flash".
Cast as a Mousketeer in the updated cable-TV version of "The Mickey Mouse
Club" (aired on the Disney Channel).
1989-1993 Cast as regular on the ABC family drama "Life Goes On".
Played the lead in CBS series "Christy".
1997 Returned to series TV on the NBC drama "Crisis Center".

Kellie Martin's Filmography
Kellie has done lots of television, it almost seems like a comfort zone for her
(vs.the big screen.) She's good at it....so why should she stop? I think many of
her fans would like to see her in a regular series than an odd movie every now
and then. Maybe I'm wrong, but perhaps there's a compromise and she can continue
to do both!
In a Prodigy chat (March 1996), it was surprising but rather neat to find out
that she has been in several commercials also. She said, " I have been in like
50 commercials, but it was before Life Goes On. I did Taco Bell, Cheetos,
Pillsbury brownies...I did a lot."
Her favorite role of all time is not a surprise to most fans. It was the role of
Becca on the show Life Goes On. In reference to Life Goes On she said, "There
has not been talk of a reunion unfortunately, but I would love it. Becca will
always be my favorite character. If a feature film is offered to me, I would
love to do it. But right now, I'm not doing any."
When asked what kind of movie she would really like to try she says "I'd love to
do a Meg Ryan kind of role from "When Harry Met Sally" type of thing."
Kellie hasn't had a chance to do this type of role yet...but according to her
she wants to be in film "for the long haul." I know she'll get her chance.

arranged for Kellie to audition for Michael Landon's Father Murphy series. Since
then, her career has been a series of leaps and bounds.

Quotes:

Kellie hasn't had a chance to do this type of role yet...but according to her
she wants to be in film "for the long haul." I know she'll get her chance.

synopsis
Mystery Woman: Redemption
She's devoured every mystery, solved every fictional crime, deduced
every Holmsian clue, and pegged every killer before the final shot in
the dark. That was all fun and games--by the book. Now she's being
clued in to a real murder and living everything she's only ever read
about...
As a young girl, Samantha Kinsey's (Emmy nominee Kellie Martin, E.R.)
bedtime stories consisted of baffling whodunits, locked-room
mysteries, classic courtroom dramas, and ingenious detective
fiction--all read to her by her beloved Uncle Bob, a crime-novel
aficionado and owner of a bookstore called Mystery Man. Today,
Samantha still has a thirst for thrillers that has been sweetly
quenched, since her late uncle bequeathed to her his beloved shop,
complete with its live-in crime connoisseur, Ian Philby (J.E.
Freeman,
Patriot Games), a mysterious friend of the family. Then, by a stroke
of luck her first customer is her old friend Tracy (Amy Locane,
Melrose Place), who invites her to a party. The occasion? Tracy's
father, Jack Stenning (Golden Globe nominee Robert Wagner, Austin
Powers), a renowned author, is about to complete his newest
masterpiece--a dazzling work of true-crime that promises to bring a
killer to justice. As quick as she can say Agatha Christie, Samantha
discovers firsthand that life can imitate art.
No sooner has the party begun than Jack is discovered swinging from
the ceiling of his study--the door bolted from the inside, a suicide
note to his wife apologizing for an adulterous affair neatly typed
and
signed. Yet did he really take his own life? Consider the guests:
Jack's bitter and estranged son Tom (Troy Bishop, Scream) who's shown
up out of the blue; Jack's betrayed wife Mary (Joan Severance,
Payback); and Tracy, who's discovered a shattering secret about Mommy
and Daddy. Consider the clues: the argument Jack was engaged in
before
he died; the blackmail letters; the bold mistress; the unsolved true
crime Jack was investigating; and his missing manuscript. Samantha's
considering all the possibilities, and she's too well-read to settle
for the suicide theory. But when her own life is threatened, the
amateur sleuth finds herself the lead character in a baffling,
real-life whodunit--and she wouldn't have it any other way.
Take Nancy Drew's intuition, Sam Spade's wits, and Jessica Fletcher's
indomitable curiosity and you have one of the most appealing sleuths
of all time in Mystery Woman, an ingenious whodunit from Alpine
Medien
that'll have you guessing to the deadly end.

1976 First appearance in features (as baby), in "Pleasantville".

1986 Feature film debut (adult) in "Jumpin' Jack Flash".
Cast as a Mousketeer in the updated cable-TV version of "The Mickey Mouse
Club" (aired on the Disney Channel).

Kellie is working so hard to increase awareness about lupus. It was obviously a
trying time in Kellie's life (and that of her family and friends too) when in
July of 1998, her 19-year-old sister, Heather, was misdiagnosed and died very
suddenly from lupus. I would hope that it is somewhat therapeutic for Kellie to
know that she could be helping potentially thousands or eventually millions of
people not to have to face a misdiagnosis of this terrible and deadly disease.

Kellie hasn't had a chance to do this type of role yet...but according to her
she wants to be in film "for the long haul." I know she'll get her chance.

Made: 2007
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Stars: Kellie Martin
Nina (Kellie Martin) has two great kids but a troubled marriage.
When she sneaks away to visit her dying grandmother across the
country, we discover her secret: a psychotic brother who she's
managed to elude for the last ten years. Though incredibly
charming, he's over-protective to the extreme, having "handled"
anyone who came into her life and made her unhappy in the past.
Nobody believed her, so she fled. Now he's tracked her to her
home and starts to ingratiate his way back into her life. She
wants to believe he's really changed. Everyone loves him, but
then people start disappearing, and she knows the truth. She
has to beat him at his own game to save her husband's life and
reclaim her own.

1976 First appearance in features (as baby), in "Pleasantville".
1982 TV debut at age 7 on Michael Landon's series "Father Murphy" (NBC);
landed role partly because her aunt was the nanny to Landon's children.
Played medical resident Lucy Knight on NBC's medical drama "ER".
2002.
Returned to series work as co-star of "The Court", replacing Alicia Witt as a
Supreme Court clerk.
I'd rather have a long respected career."

majoring in Art History.
