One can hear the thump slowly mounting… One can feel his coming… ‘Vettaikkaran’ is around the corner, waiting to make his entry!
Sun Pictures are making the right noises, building the much-needed anticipation around this Vijay’s movie. With punchy lyrical songs and sneak-peek promos, fans are now really inquisitive to receive this much waited 49th movie of Ilaya Thalapathy.
One is eager to see Vijay in the hands of debutant director Babu Sivan; and mainly to watch our hero romancing the sizzling Anushka for the first time!
Latest reports say that Vettaikkaran’s overseas rights has been taken up by a new Singapore-based distribution company on a huge budget basis. It is a no wonder for a Vijay’s movie, as the star is second best after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on the international market scenario.
Come December and Vettaikkaran’s promotional activities will take off on full swing. For the time being let’s wait for the movie’s magic to take over from December 18th.

Thamanna is quite happy because she has paired will all the big stars. Kandein Kadhalai which she did the female lead role is doing well at the box office.
The shooting of the film Thillangadi and Sura is going on. Thamanna recently shared her cinema experiences with the media people. She said,” I am currently acting in Paiya, Thillangadi and Sura. Paiya is being released for Pongal.
I want pair with Kamal. If I get the chance I will not miss it. Among actresses I like Asin and Trisha very much. They are best actors and they have lot of fans. Tamil cinema is in very good condition now. I am really very happy to be part of it.
I have no intention of acting in Hindi cinema. If I get a good story I might act in a Hindi film. I will not act in swimming suits. I have been signed for two Telugu films. I have no intention of getting married now. If any body says that he is in love with me, my reply will depend on the person concerned. We cannot say that actresses go to act in Hindi films to earn money.
There is chance to become internationally fame if one acts in Hindi films. It is a beautiful experience to act with Vijay in Sura. He is a hard worker. In Hindi, Madhuri Dixit is my favourite actress. Hrithik Roshan is my favourite hero. Sachin is my favourite cricketer. If I ahd not come to act, I would have been a doctor. I know English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. My mother tongue is Hindi.’
There are many loyal fans for Ilayathalapathy Vijay who always extend their full support to Vijay even during his hard times and also indulge themselves who le heartedly in many social activities there-by help a lot of poor and needy people in their surroundings. These fans are very proud to help people in the name of Vijay as they find it very amicable and that?s how Vijay has been an inspiration to many youngsters.
So Actorvijay.net proudly respects such fans of Ilayathalapathy and we will be updating articles regarding those fans every week from now on and also the most important is their relationship with Vijay .
To start off, this week we will start with one of the most die hard fans of Vijay isMr P.Saravanan also known as Saravana by his friends and local mates . He is basically from a middle class family who right now resides in Neelangarai ,very near to our Ilayathalapathy?s house. He isan Auto Driver and owns a private Auto too. Heis a die hard fan of ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY right from the start of Vijay?s career. Saravanan is very fond of Vijay not only for his movies but also for his social responsibility and his helpful nature towards many poor and needy people. This kind of passion in Vijay to help people inspired him a lot. For this reason he started doing social activities in the name of Vijay through his Mandrams. Currently he is the owner of ECR VIJAY NARPANI MANDRAM IYAKKAM and hasaround 55 Narpani
Mandrams registered under the main. He also feels very happy in doing some social justice to the people around him.
Our Ilayathalapathy knows Mr.Savaranan very well right from his earlier days and also Vijay bypasses through his mandram only everytime he goes through thiruvanmuyur. One of the incident which he shared with us was during the shooting of ATM at Lifeline hospital near Kandhanchavadi. Our Ilayathalapathy was present for the shooting and Mr.Sarvanan had gone there in his auto to the shooting spot to see Vijay. There was a lot of security around Vijay and they didn leave Mr.Saravanan to see Vijay. Luckily Vijay himself saw Mr.Saravanan standing one amongst the fans at the shooting spot. Our Vijay on seeingMr. Saravanan called him immediately and asked him about his parents and family. Mr.Sarvanan then showed his designs to our Vijay and also explained him about his activites. Ilayathalapathy was very happy about this and offered him to have lunch along with him. Mr.Saravanan had
lunch with Vijay after which he joined the shooting spot where he saw few scenes being shot. Later in the evening Vijay himself came towards him and said ? Saravana auto a edunga, namma iniki auto la porom?( Saravana get your auto ready we are going by auto today). Mr.Saravanan was literally shocked and then Vijay came in his auto which was followed by Vijay?s car. For safety purpose Vijay pulled down the side covers of the auto. Our Ilayathalapathy shared a lots of things with Mr.Sarvannan.Later Vijay himself got down at Tidel park and then conveyed his wishes to him.
This was one of the memorable incident in Mr.Saravanan in his life. Who would get a chance like this and who would be so simple and humble to go with a fan like this. That?s how our llayathalapathy stands out and inspires people by his general humbleness and kindness towards his fans apwhoart from his activities towards his society.
With Vettaikaran release date being officially confirmed as Dec 18th , fans of Vijay are abudant with joy since this is one of the most expected movie of the year. Right now our Ilayathalapathy Vijay is busy shooting for his 50th movie Sura and now the crew has moved to Hyderabad where they will be shooting for 1 week.A few imporatant scenes will be shot here after which the crew will be moving to their next schedule. In this movie Vijay plays a role of fisherman and Vijay admits that this will be one of the movie in which he plays a entirely differnt character which his fans had never seen him before
Thamanna while speaking about her heroes said,” Vijay is a peaceful person and very soft person to get along with. I am waiting to pair with Ajith.
Surya is also simple and humble person. Dhanush has lot of sense of humor. Bharath is a person who does not believe in formalities and is a free type. Jayam Ravi is a playful and jolly good type. Karthi is bubbly and energetic guy.”
After depicting same actors like Prakash Raj, Shayaji Shinde in baddie roles, filmmakers of Tamil cinema have likely started roping in new actors for the negative characters.
Appropriately, we have been witnessing the debut of various actors from Bollywood and Telugu Film industry venturing into Kollywood for this specific role. The recent release of Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’ had Bollywood’s reigning actor Rahul Dev as baddie while Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Vettaikaran’ has Salim Ghosh enacting the negative role.
The latest buzz on air is that Vijay’s 50th film ‘Sura’ has Telugu actor Dev Gill performing villainous character. Dev Gill, shot to fame with his mind-boggling performance in Telugu movie ‘Magadheera’. He performed dual role of Senadhipathi Randhev and reincarnated Raghuveer.
It’s not too long since you thought the teenager who bore striking resemblance to Vijay, who played his younger brother in Bhagavathi, looked like his body double. He later went on to accentuate his similarities with the actor in the cult hit Chennai – 28. Jai, who debuted with Bhagavathi and shot into limelight with his Chennai 28 and Subramaniapuram has had difficulties fixing his body language so as not to look like Vijay’s carbon copy. That he emerged out of the image soon enough and is on the list of the promising actors of Tamil cinema is very much an old news.
But Jai is not an isolated case scenario. Although he could be the only special case having to set himself apart from his peer (Vijay in this case) for having similar looks, there are many more look-alike versions in Tamil cinema, subtly hidden beneath the garbs and make up.
Take Asin for instance; she has the once
peppy Revathi who played layered roles and became an icon of sorts in Tamil, hidden inside her. We screamed our lungs out having found the latest edition of Revathi. She’s testing the Bollywood
waters now but what’s the big deal, she’s still our brainy little girl from Kerala who found her stardom in Tamil.
Vijay called a relatively new, up and coming actor Poorna, the latest Asin. Although she doesn’t have Asin’s sharp features, she makes it up with her smoothed attributes. But whether she will replace Asin’s loss to Tamil cinema remains to be seen. But wait. Asin never said she has abandoned Tamil anyway.
Now looking back, there have been doppelgangers even for the superstar Rajinikanth. Nalinikanth, who surfaced a couple of decades ago in the scene, had an impeccable parallel to the superstar. His circular face, unruly hair that is unkempt (a trademark of the superstar himself) and shrewd eyes have earned him the name of Rajini’s carbon copy. He tried his hands at a few movies with little or no success and later graduated (or rather stepped down) to negative roles. After
all, there can’t be two rulers, can there?
Similarly, when the Salem born/bred Saravanan made his debut a decade ago, he brought with him an unmistakable similarity to Vijayakanth. But the similarity ended right there and he is now happily playing roles that’s got more meat (remember Paruthiveeran?) than before. On the other hand, Vijayakanth is still the quintessential hero still dishing out one flick after the other.
If the explosive Roja was not good enough then, we also had the look-alike Ravali who tried to cash in on us with her plumpness. But her career had a silent death for we couldn’t take t(wo)oo many Rojas. And if ever Vadivelu wants to have a look alike twin (or brother, as the case may be) in his film, there is Sugumar whose indigenous comic act for Kaadal got him noticed.
That besides, you can spot bits and pieces of Prabhu in Karan, lots of Aishwarya Rai in Dia Mirza and Sneha Ullal.
Bollywood is rife
with such look-alikes as well. Harman Baweja / Hrithik, Divya Bharti / Sridevi, Preity Zinta / Drew Barrymore and Katrina / Sangeetha Bijlani are a few examples.
All said and done, notwithstanding the fact that the looks of an already popular star does no good to an actor’s career, it also proves to be a baggage worth shedding before shaping up a career.
Finally, Sun Pictures have confirmed the release date of ‘Vettaikaran’ on December 18. Earlier the Tamil Film Producers Council had implemented certain orders about releasing not more than couple of releases every Friday and big-budget flicks on Government Holidays, but nothing seems to be relevant with those orders.
Likely, the producers have planned to release the film on Dec 18 as it would be an yearend holiday for many institutions in the state as well in overseas (on account of Christmas).
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated action movie Vettaikaran, being directed by debutant Babu Sivan (erstwhile associate of director Dharani) with Tollywood damsel Anushka as heroine, is likely to be re-shot after a team of professionals from the film's distributors Sun Pictures, watched the film and expressed their views, reportedly insisting that director Babu Sivan needs to reshoot some scenes which they found less than satisfactory, sources revealed.
Vettaikaran, produced by AVM Productions, recently completed its entire shooting with a song sequence in Pune and even got a 'U/A' certificate last week. However, it is yet to be seen whether Vijay would agree to this sudden demand of reshooting as he is busy shooting for his 50th film Sura, being directed by S.P. Rajkumar and produced by Sangili Murugan.
After the disappointing run of his recent films Kuruvi and Villu, Vijay has pinned his hopes on Vettaikkaran, based on the story of an energetic young man and his angst against baddies in society. It has music by rock composer Vijay Antony. Cinematography is by Gopinath and editing is by V.T. Vijayan.
Karthikeyan, a resident of Shenoy Nagar, has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking to direct the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) to annul its recent order granting five acres of land to actor Vijay in Korattur.
The petitioner alleged that six acres of land, taken over by the State government in 1969 from his father Rathina Pandian to create residential colonies, have been left unused by the government till now. In 2003, the government announced that the unused land can be taken back by the legal heirs of those who handed them over to the government. However, efforts by his mother Saraswathy to reclaim the land had been in vain, Karthikeyan said.
"A petition was filed in the Madras High Court in 2007 seeking the court’s intervention in the issue. The court then ordered the TNHB to consider our request. However, the very next year, the TNHB informed us that the lands have been used to lay roads in Ambattur and some portion handed over to Thravidiyan Panchayat. In contrast, it was found last year that compound walls were put up in the vacant ground and enquiries revealed that it was handed over to actor Vijay," he added.
Following an RTI application by Karthikeyan, the TNHB authorities informed that five acres of land had been handed over to Vijay. How can a piece of land allotted to Ambattur Municipality and Thravidiyan Panchayat be given to an individual asks Karthikeyan. The petition is expected to come up for hearing soon.

After the chill schedule in Alleppey, Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay was working in Marakkanam for his 50th film ‘Sura’. The shoot that started on October 21st was to can a few stunt sequences on the Uppaneri Bridge near Marakkanam Salt Lake. Vijay fought with villain Dev’s gang for almost threes days, say the sources.
Then after a three days gap, the shoot resumed in Prasad Studio and AVM Studio on October 27th. Sources from the film’s crew said that two song sequences were shot in the studios with grand sets.
Now the whole team is gearing-up to start the third schedule of the shoot in Hyderabad. This schedule will be starting from November 5th onwards.
When things are going like this, birdies chirped that ‘Jayam’ Raja may direct Vijay’s 51st film. But latest we could hear sources stating that Lingusamy has approached Vijay with a script.
Former brilliant Cricketer Krishnamacharya Srikanth’s son Adithya got affiliated afresh to Aishwarya. A accession was captivated and top Tamil stars and celebrities abounding the function. Top guests accommodate Rajinikanth, Jayalalitha, Kapil Dev & Vijay.

Kapildev greeting K Srikanth Son Adithya Wedding Reception
Ex.Chief Minister Jayalalitha greeting K Srikanth Son Adithya Wedding Reception

Now that his Karthi-Tamannah starrer ‘Paiya’ is nearing completion, Lingusamy is getting ready for the next. The hero of the film is none other than Vijay, who is currently acting in ‘Sura’ in the direction of S P Rajakumar.
Says Lingusamy, “I am penning a story for Vijay, which would touch new heights in action genre. Plans are on to make the movie in a grand scale by making use of all latest technical advancements.”
On reports he would direct Chiranjeevi’s son Ramcharan Teja, the filmmaker says, “Yes. I am also planning to direct Ramcharan. His performance in ‘Magadheera’ is simply stunning. I have narrated two stories to him.”
Ask him about ‘Paiya’, he says, “it is a travelogue kind of action adventure. Karthi starts a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai along with Tamannah. The hurdles they face during their trip and they overcome everything is ‘Paiya’ to you.”
Bhagiyaraj’s ‘Siddu Plus Two First Attempt’ is soon going to have its music launched. The audio launch is said to happen on 31st Oct in Sathyam Cinemas, in the morning.
And the highlight of the event… Vijay! Yes, our Ilaya Thalapathy will be gracing the occasion as a guest of honour!! It is said that the actor is an ardent fan of Bhagiyaraj and so agreed to do the launch.
Bannered under K. Bhagiyaraj’s production KBR Medias Pvt. Ltd, ‘Siddu Plus Two First Attempt’ will be presented by Moser Baer Entertainment. Remember Bhagiyaraj’s previous ‘Parijatham’ that had soulful songs? Well, the same music director Dharan has handled the music for this one too.
Debutant Chandni will be featured along with Santhanu Bhagiyaraj, and besides these two, the movie will have Rajesh, Seetha, Avinash and ‘Ganja’ Karuppu.
Here’s the latest buzz from our sources - Before starting on the last schedule of Gautham Menon’s ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ Silambarasan had got in touch with Andhra girl Anushka.
So what’s the reason behind this call? - was our question...
After completing this romantic entertainer with Trisha, Silambarasan will jump into the process of making his ‘Valiban’. Looks like the entire script of ‘Valiban’ is ready now.
Silambarasan had contacted Anushka for ‘Valiban’ through his producer S.S.Chakravarthy’s production manager. But, the beauty had replied that she will call back if her role in the film was a strong one. Following this Silambarasan had asked if he can contact Anushka through SMS. Instantaneously Anushka had called our hero and both had deep discussion over phone for nearly half an hour.
Know what? Sources say that Silambarasan will be narrating the script of ‘Valiban’ to Anushka as soon as he is back from the shoot of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’. But even before that producer S.S.Chakravarthy’s people are trying their best to get the actress’s call-sheet.
Adadaa... Anushka is shifting from Vettaikaran to Valiban’s hands soon!?!
The Rajamouli-directed Magadheera, which created a history in Box-Office collections in Telugu, will see its Tamil version release very soon.
After news came that some portions in the first half will be reshot with Tej and a Kollywood comedian, its materialization seemed all the more true.
The film has not even reached the 100-day mark in Telugu, but plans for a dubbed version have seen good progress in recent days. Though we have to wait and watch how the film will fare in Tamil Nadu, Ram Charan Tej must be having his fingers crossed over the project.
Made on a mammoth budget by Geetha Arts, the film helped Charan to catapult himself to starry orbit. It has been a long time since we last heard a Telugu hero eager to make a mark with a new audience, and Charan has to be appreciated for the audacity he is showing though the young actor is just two films old.
Discerning that Tamil audience are, Charan stands a good chance to be accepted in Tamil Nadu with this love story with histrocal backdrop, because action-based films are enjoying good currency there.
Moreover, the kind of lavishness and grandeur Magadheera boasts of is something no Tamil film has had in the past. The challenge the producers are certain to face is that of bringing nativity in script and screenplay.
If only the film gets acceptance in Tamil Nadu, the Hindi remake will get a great fillip. But the film is going to face competition from two big releases when it finally releases on Pongal day. One is Ajith-starrer Asal and probably a Vijay film.

Vijay is planning to act in a breezy entertainer to be directed by Fazil, the man behind the actor’s smash hit ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’, say sources in the know.
Saying that the filmmaker had called on the ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ recently, they say that he had narrated a storyline during the meeting, which impressed Vijay a lot.
However, since Vijay’s image has undergone a sea change in the past decade, the actor has politely asked the director to make some changes in the script to suit to his present image, it is said.
Following this, Fazil is currently working on the script and would present the final draft to Vijay soon, sources add. The director-actor duo came together for two movies in the past- one the super hit ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’ and the other is ‘Kannukkul Nilavu’, a damp squib.
A huge set has been erected in Marakkanam, a coastal town, to can some important sequences of Vijay starrer ‘Sura’.
According to sources, a song and a stunt sequence on Vijay will be shot in Marakkanam. The entire cast and crew have been giving their best to make the movie a blockbuster, it is learnt, as it is the actor’s 50th film.
Directed by S P Rajakumar of ‘En Purushan Kuzhandhai Madhiri’ and ‘Azhagarmalai’ fame, shoot of ‘Sura’ started in the backwaters of Kerala in the last week of September. For the first time, Tamannah is sharing the screen space with Vijay in the movie.
Produced by Sangili Murugan, who had made ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’ a decade ago, Vadivelu will take care of the comedy portion.
Vikranth, who was on a brief break, is making a comeback. He will be seen in ‘Goripalayam’, which will be directed by Rasu Madhuravan and another untitled project with director Selva. Vikranth, the cousin of actor Vijay had acted in many films including ‘Nenjaththai Killathey’, ‘Engal Aasaan’ and ‘Karka Kasadara’.
Now the young hero is ready to tie knots with Manasa, daughter of cinematographer Hemasundar. The marriage will take place on 21st of this month at Accord Metropolitan in Chennai, while the reception is to take place on 20th.
Director S A Chandrasekar, Shoba Chandrasekar and Vijay are expected to be present for the marriage.
We wish that his marriage would bring Vikranth more fortune in the future!
Gone are those days when heroines used to earn a little, compared to the heroes. We hear that Trisha took home 80 lakhs for a Tamil movie and 1.10 crore for Telugu after paying the income tax last year. The next highest paid lady was Nayantara who earned 70 lakhs for Tamil and 85 lakhs for Telugu. Though Shriya came in later, the girl also demanded 85 lakhs.
Before three years the producers were paying nothing more than 40-50 lakhs for the lead ladies of their movies. A leading producer says that heroines started to point out Tollywood which pays the heroines like no where, and started to insist more. Furthermore, heroes with more popularity started to demand such heroines for the projects and pushed the producers to hire heroines for high rates.
Till last July, it was Trisha who was the No.1 in the Industry but the white beauty Tamannah has pushed her down now. The latest hot news we hear from the production house of Vijay’s 50th film ‘Sura’ is that Tamannah is paid 90 lakhs.
Another shocking news that adds oil to this sky-high salary matter is from Kamal’s office. Birdies say that there are a lot of possibilities for Tamannah to be roped in for the Mysskin-Kamal project that is on cards. And so, the girl’s salary might touch a crore’s mark very soon!
Rajnikanth use to spend the whole Deepavali day with his daughters and grandson. Rajni is fond of crackers than sparklers. On every Deepavali night he use to visit the Kaligambal Temple.
On the Deepavali day Vijay use to burst bundles of crackers along with his son Sanjay in the gardens of his Neelankarai house. Vijay’s Deepavali dress is gifted by his parents till this day.
Ajith’s Deepavali budget will almost be like the budget of a middle income group. His specialty is that he will wish his well wishers on Deepavali day who were instrument in shaping up his career.
Sneha will at any cost enter any temple before sun rise on Deepavali day. She will not even drink a cup of water until the Pooja is over. After this, she will celebrate the feast in an extravagant manner along with her sister’s kids.
Vadivelu has the habit of celebrating Deepavali along with his family in his native place. He will not return to Chennai without worshipping his family deity Ayyanar.
Shreya has the habit of visiting a God Man on the Deepavali day to sought his blessings. This has been her habit for the last two years.
Thamannah celebrates her Deepavali in a grand way. She is fond of crackers. Her sentiment is that she wears yellow dresses on this occasion.
It is worth mentioning here that Kapilan’s lyrics in Vijay’s earlier film Pokkiri Adungada enna suthi with the lines theepandham edudhu theendamai koluthu was also a hit and the actor’s fans had used it in the banners during the release of the film. Probably Vijay’s fans should be eying the Unavu Udai Uraividam song lyrics for the banner this time.
Vijay next film in the pipeline, Vettaikaran, has drawn in a lot of expectations among his fans. The film is directed by Babu Sivan and has Anushka pairing up with Vijay.
