Hi all,

I'm posting this to several lists-- apologies for dupes, and for what may be a
message not as on-topic as it could be for some lists...

Recently I was the location recordist for a video shoot, and I'll also be
editing the post sound. The cinematographer/ editor is now rolling footage from
DV tapes into Final Cut. We've had the following issue on a previous project,
and we're having it again, so I'd like to see if anyone knows what the deal is
here...

The audio on the tapes is fine, but when it's input into the computer we get
occasional Max Headroom-esque glitches once it's on the hard drive. It sounds to
me like tiny instants of audio are looped briefly, rather than new audio being
input.

Anyway, there's clearly some sort of problem with the input, but I'm wondering
if anyone has any idea of the specifics... is it the input deck? The computer?
The cable(s)? The software? The editor says he captures "with pulldown removal
and normally",  and I don't know what that means, but maybe that makes a
difference... I don't know that much about video input myself, so any info that
anyone has would be helpful.
