Denzel Washington is societys last hope in the post-apocalyptic tale The Book of Eli. After the U.S. has been reduced to a wasteland, Washington plays a man who must protect a book that possesses the secrets to saving mankind. He treks across the dangerous country to bring the book to safety.
Co Starring Batman's The Dark Knight Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis and Ray Stevenson.

There is also talk of a sequel to "Inside Man", Director Spike Lee is said to be onboard. The Matarese Circle with director David Cronenberg is also in the works.

Denzels Next film in cinemas will be "The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three" , its release date is - July, 31 2009.
Denzel Washington will take the lead role in the remake of the 1974 film The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3. The story is about four hijackers who board a NYC subway train and take it hostage, using the passengers as ransom.
He joins up again with director, Tony Scott (Man on Fire). Co starring John Travolta and "The Sopranos" James Gandolfini.

On DVD check out Denzel in the Great Debaters and American Gangster. Directing projects Denzel is looking at are Brothers In Arms In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis Jr.

Outrage! Denzel snubbed for another oscar Not even nominated for his role in "American Gangster". Surely deserved a nod, guess the academy still too PC as the film shows a good side of an evil man.
