Checking my friends page at LJ just made me very sad today. Several had posted that Patrik Swayze lost his fight against cancer.

BLOOM VICTIM OF JEWELLERY HEIST

Actor ORLANDO BLOOM lost jewellery worth an estimated $500,000 (�333,330) when burglars broke into his Hollywood Hills mansion on Wednesday night (15Jul09).
The Pirates of the Caribbean star was in New York when the heist took place.
According to TMZ.com, two pricey watches are among the items stolen by thieves, who reportedly gained access to the Los Angeles property through a window.
Police sources tell the website the break-in did not appear to be "a typical burglary"; no arrests have yet to be made

"Tom Hanks is over!" So insisted many before the box office returns of his latest film. "Tom Cruise is finished!" argued those foolishly enough to suck up to Sumner Redstone. Sumner's the idiot, Tom's got the career. But there are performers with problems. (Julia Roberts has a problem and Team Julia is working on addressing it.) And, worse, there are performers whom the audience no longer cares for. Below are performers who ended the 90s as certified stars and yet now struggle to sell tickets.

5) Orlando Bloom.

One of the most glaring faults of this decade has been the inability of films to create any new stars. Your comedy stars either got their start in films before this decade or on TV. No actress emerged in the 90s as a major bankable star due to films (Anne Hathaway, tremendously talented, would be the closet thing and her best box office is as a co-lead). But no actor was pimped harder by a studio than Orlando Bloom whom New Line would whisper was the only "good looking" young actor in the Lord of the Rings films. He got publicity. And once upon a time, so did Mark Hamill. We know how this story ends even if the studios haven't caught on. Appearing in the Pirates franchise confused the issue but an examination of any film he has to carry demonstrates that he can't and that the actor New Line thought was "good looking" has a face made for stage work. Kingdom of Heaven, Ned Kelly, Elizabethtown, Haven, The Calcium Kid . . . How many disasters can a faded piece of not-all-that eye candy command before the studios catch on? The refusal to cast him in last year's Twilight indicates that they already have figured out he's a 'teen idol' in the same way Anthony Perkins was.

We came together three years ago as fans of Tolkien, initially to help the Gathering happen at all, and then on a mission to do what was right following our amazing experience together in Toronto.

Our journey is finally at an end, and to all of you we offer our sincere thanks! For the last three years Operation Gathering has been a huge part of our lives, and now we have reached the final chapter in this story. Together we have come full circle...truly there and back again.

Congratulations go out to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, patted us on the back, sent positive words of support, and donated items from your own collection to be raffled. Thanks to all who have supported us through these few years in what seemed at first to be an impossible task. Hi,

I have seen (and had to buy the magazin that included) a book called Obsessing Orlando written by Kassy Tayler. Has anyone heard about it?

It seems to be a more teenage book written about a girl going in high school that is... right obsessed with Orlando. She had her room covered with Orlando posters and other things and seemed to dream about him everyday.

I have so far only read the first chapters so I have no idea how it will go. I just was curious if anyone have heard about it.

This is a reminder or of that I have yet only got a few that signed up for this and I would love to get all 25 filled. So if you haven't left a comment for me please do it. I know it is long to December but I want all the stories written and betad so thats why I remind you again.

Over at my Livejournal I have posted a Advent Calender with Photos that I've taken this year. Next year I would love to give a drabbel, ficlet or short stories to you my friends, a new every day until 25 December. What the length of the piece will be is decided by my inspiration and I will hope to have it betad when posted, so I would prefer you sign up before 30 October 2009.

So my wish is that you leave at least three prompts (one something with Christmas to do) and what Fandom and Character/Characters you would prefer. It can be RP.
Example of prompts; Candle, breathing, at home.
If you rather want to set it in a special meeting like first time, during filming x it would work as well I think.

I do write a lot of different type so if there is anything you don't want/like to read let me know.
I want you to go to the entry in my journal which I hope to screen the comments so it get a surprise in the end.

For the Christmas prompt I will edit the entry with those that is given so they does not get to many times.

I will keep this entry open/public until I get 25 wishes. So please don't hesitate to leave one.

Well, folks, we have had a good run with Operation Gathering. With your help and encouragement we were able to pay all guests who were owed following the Gathering of the Fellowship, 2006. We also reimbursed most of the other guest-related expenses. Before we finish our quest and sail into the West we will be having a fire sale to disburse all of our remaining raffle items.

We want to profusely thank EVERYONE who has made a contribution to Operation Gathering. Be it purchasing raffle items, donating items from your collection, or simply offering kind words of support you have kept us going these long years.

Here is how our fire sale will work: We will have a goal of selling as many raffle tickets as we can by April 15, 2009. On that date ALL items will go, regardless of how many raffle tickets they have on them. We still have some great items available. If you are a collector, now is the time. This last-ditch effort will be to pay off what is one of our most important guest-related expenses...one of our own who gave selflessly so everyone could enjoy a certain guest who shall remain unnamed. We are so close to our goal...Can you help?

No I haven't seen it. Have you a scan or any other pic that is the same?

Actually it would probably take some time before I might see it as the magazine would not come here in a few weeks, it's so to live in Sweden.
