Hi Keith, I followed the link to you site and it seems like the only
template/plans I could find were for some check armor. Am I looking in the wrong
place?

I´m here too, and my costume is far from finished... I think six or seven years ago I has put all the pieces in a box and still they are there.

Next year I´ll start working again on it. I was too ambitious and the chest armour, helmet, knee armour, arms, etc are all in cast aluminium, they are really great, but slow and expensive...

Have fun, and in a few months I´ll post some pictures.

I'm still here too.  Been slowly upgrading my costume over the past several years.  I've been keeping most of it in boxes too, so it's been holding up pretty well.  Bought the MR helmet a few years ago, but haven't gotten around to making any mods to it.  Will probably need some help with that. Also need a pair of boots; I don't like the CA Boots and would prefer something more homemade and better looking.  If anyone knows someone in the DC area who does good work on homemade BF or trooper costumes, let me know!  :)

TK 826  checking in.

I really thought this list was dead.
But, being a member of TUBFC group for over 10 years now, I haven't had the heart

Glad to see that there are still others keeping it alive.

Hi Keith...I'm still alive, and your scratch built BF inspired me to do my scratch built Vader costume/how to web site.   My Vader costume has seen better days, but a little TLC will make it all better again. I recently dressed a home made mannequin in my basement n the costume to use as a cool prop to just hang around in my "art project work room". Fits in with all the other SW junk I have in there!
I kind of fell off the creativity wagon for some time, but he's standing there reminding me of what I can do.

Is there anybody here?! here... here... here...

Just testing. If anyone is still around I thought I'd drop a line. Many moons ago I put together my scratch built Boba Fett costume. At the time it looked great, but I've been overtaken by the quality of vacuformed suits since that time.

So at the weekend I dug out the old boy from the loft to show my five year old.... when I built and last wore it I didn't have any kids....

... it was a mess. Painting flaked off, plastic bits smashed and bent, it was sad. I nearly through the whole thing in the bin it looked so bad. But having thought about it, maybe looking bashed and worn is a good thing for it. Patch it up, respray it and become a unique merc mandalorian. Why not. I don't think I'll ever wear it as a Boba Fett any more but I think it may have a few more years as a scratch built battle worn mandalorian warrior.

I plan to put up some photos on the web site just so every one can see the lifecycle of my backpack and gear.

Yeah, the more battle damage, the better...especially since it's even more authentic than purposely weathering it.

Just testing. If anyone is still around I thought I'd drop a line. Many moons
ago I put together my scratch built Boba Fett costume. At the time it looked
great, but I've been overtaken by the quality of vacuformed suits since that
time.

So at the weekend I dug out the old boy from the loft to show my five year
old.... when I built and last wore it I didn't have any kids....

... it was a mess. Painting flaked off, plastic bits smashed and bent, it was
sad. I nearly through the whole thing in the bin it looked so bad. But having
thought about it, maybe looking bashed and worn is a good thing for it. Patch it
up, respray it and become a unique merc mandalorian. Why not. I don't think I'll
ever wear it as a Boba Fett any more but I think it may have a few more years as
a scratch built battle worn mandalorian warrior.

I plan to put up some photos on the web site just so every one can see the
lifecycle of my backpack and gear.

Excellent site...I use it to show my kids what creativity is really like.
I buy crap because of time restraints but my kids have plenty of time on their imaginative hands.....

Well, with job one and job two and the grandmother with Alzehim. and the college I really need to finish, I haven't been to TDH in ages too b/c, well, I get jealous looking at all the stuff I can't afford.  :)  And when I graduate I'm going into law enforcement, and as we all know, won't make squat.  *snort*  So my suit may have to wait for a long time.
Nice to see some activity.....couldn't believe I found a digest alert in my inbox!!!!

I'm still working on my Fett suit, though at a snail's pace. Finally
received my Master Replicas helmet earlier this year (six months after
ordering it!). It's friggin' awesome looking and very well made, but needs
some customization work in terms of its wearability. It's obviously
designed for people with much larger heads than mine, so I'll have to fit it
with something to properly secure it on my head.

Apart from that, the only other item I still need would be the boots. I'm
not crafty enough to make a decent pair myself, and have been skeptical of
the CA Boots in the past, but public opinion has swayed me back to give CA
Boots a second look. I've noticed that there's a guy on TDH that still
sells the metal toe spikes too.

I've been slowly putting my suit together since '01, and have slacked on it
the last couple of years, but I've gotten re-motivated over the past week or
so to finally put the finishing touches on the thing. Anyone who's still on
here that's got advice on my helmet problem or the boots, feel free to chime
in! Thanks!

To help fit a large helmet, I found that a Swiss Tanker's helmet works well as a lining (there was one on Ebay at http://cgi.ebay. com/EAST- GERMAN-TANKERS- LATE-MODEL- LEATHER-HELMET_ W0QQitemZ2702781 39740) You might be able to find one in a military surplus catalog somewhere.

Another option is to sew a padde cap in a similar pattern as that helmet, making each of those "pad pockets" into sets of "channels" in which you can stuff strips of cotton batting.

Of course my experience is for making helmet linings for SCA combat, not costume, but maybe this line of thinking will help you in dome way.

I'm still here, but my Fett suit has been mothballed for the past few years whilst I had two kids.... how time flies.

Now my four year old wants his own Fett suit. I did tell him I'd make him one once I've finished his Dr. Who Judoon costume. Sheesh!

     Still here.
    10 years and counting.
I've also tried to give the TDH a chance, many times over the years.
But everytime I try, I get the impression that it is an elitist community.
As if there are a few "Top Dogs"  that are pandered to... and the rest of the
    members aren't seriously considered.
Kinda' zaps the fun out of it.
