Don't know yet, Ms. Vicki. I'm not sure she'll attend if Himself isn't there. I sent her an e-mail yesterday and am waiting to hear back. And she has that dog now, you know.

Hi Peg! Looking forward to seeing you there! Are you rooming with your usual???
Sadly, no, I won't be able to make the upcoming convention. If all goes to current plans, I will just be getting back from 2 weeks in the UK, and I can't afford to go anywhere after that. :(
Have fun for me there though, and write and tell us what happens please! :)

MsViki
Its been a while since I have written anything here. I just wanted to
stop by and say hi.
Anyone here planning to go to Vegas in November? I know Linda, Vicki
and I are going.
Terri
Just to give you a heads up... Your Regional Coordinators Terri and I, and Miss Vicki are going out of town this weekend to meet up with the PWFC Central Cal group. Please try not to have too much fun while we're gone. We're going to be having rain and snow while you guys are just getting rain. Please be safe on the roads if any of you are traveling on Sat and Sunday!
Welcome Michael and Sara. We're happy to have you!

Hey Everybody!
Please join me in welcoming Michael and Sara to our group.
Michael and Sara, please introduce yourselves and let us know all about
you.

It looks like I was wrong.....It is being shown at the AFM, but it isnt open to the public. I am sorry, I read it wrong.
I guess i got it mixed up with AFI Fest, where the public can come pay money for the film they want to see, or buy a pass and see as many as they like.
Thank you, Terri.
Interested, definitely, able to attend, unfortunately not. There is no way
I can get off work, but thank you for the offer/information.

How does one get passes or tickets?
From: PWFC_SoCal@yahoogroups.com on behalf of Terri Hutson
I got a pass that will allow access to the AFM (American Film Market) Public Previews Screenings.
One of the films they are screening is the new Highlander film. I am going to get off work early and go Wednesday November 1 at 3pm an then maybe again on Nov 7 at 11am....anyone else going?

I would love to go to both Vancouver and Philly, but not sure if my
money would permit it.
I had a great time in Memphis. I enjoyed all the sights and sounds
of Memphis, but I managed to catch a cold, and by the dinner cruise
on Sunday, I was dead. By the time I caught my plane on Monday I
was ready to go home.
I caught up with some old friends and made a few new ones. I even
got to meet my friend Melody in person after chatting on line with
her for about a year. It was like we had known each other forever.
I had met Mel in a Lord of the Rings group, and we started chatting
on our own and became friends. She had been a Highlander fan, but
not had never been involved in any kind of fandom. I gave her a
membership to the PWFC as a gift and talked her into coming to
Memphis.
Like me, she had problems meeting people and making friends. I
started going to conventions starting with Anaheim. I was nervous
and thought I would just blend in an not meet anyone.
Through my involvement with Highlander I have made many new friends
and now know people all over the world.
I started out with APFC. Through that club I got a few pen pals that
have turned into good friends. Some have even come to LA to meet me,
But I have not gone over seas yet.
I joined PWFC a couple of years ago and like this better. The people
here are broken up into smaller regional groups that get together
regularly, or at least keep in touch on line like we are doing right
now. Or we IM each other or write cards and letters. These smaller
groups make things a little more personal and easier to make
friends.
Anyway, back to work.

Hi Peg,
Thank you, for filling out your profile.
I dont know if I can make plans for something that is happening a whole year from now....I dont know what will be happening, where I will be working etc....but if I go anywhere, it will probably be Philly.
I went to Vancouver last year with the PWFC, so i have seen it. Never been to philly, so I think I would go there. For the historical value if nothing else.

>Over the years, these groups and conventions have become less about >Highlander and more about relationships and friendships.
I would like to remind you that these groups have gotten away from discussing Highlander because that is the way of things when a show is off the air so long.
Also it has become more about friendships because that is what this fan club is all about and what Peter wants for us. The motto of the fan club is "Let Friendship Thrive" for a reason.
Excerpt from the club website under Club History:
"The intent of the club has always been to foster friendship through our common interest in the career and acting projects of Peter Wingfield. Hence, the club motto, “Let Friendship Thrive,” which was taken from a line Methos spoke in the Highlander episode, “Judgment Day.” This approach suits Peter as he prefers the club focus to be on the members rather than on him."
Those groups that get together regularly and do things together not related to the fan club try to always remember that and it has worked very well. On the other hand that has not come easy and sometimes it has been down right hard. We just try to accept each other for who we are and "Let Friendship Thrive"
Subject: [PWFC_SoCal] Re: please dont shut this group down!!!!!!!!!!!
I know of other reginal groups that are very active, keep in touch and get together regularly.
If people arent interested in getting together in person, the least they can do is respond when I ask them to step up and introduce them selves and give a breif discription (likes, hobies, work, family etc).
I asked people to complete their profiles and they chose not to. I am tired of talking to a wall.
So, when I go to Fresno later this year to see our central cal people, I will tell them I am stepping down.
Over the years, these groups and conventions have become less about Highlnder and more about relationships and friendships. It has helped me meet people that I would not have been able to meet otherwise. But I am not going to beg people to participate or beg people to be my friends. Why join the group if you (any of you) dont plan to participate.

By the way, I believe I did complete my profile and did introduce myself, It was fun meeting you in Memphis. I'm sorry I had to be behind the VPFC table most of the time. I think I'm going to Vancouver, but I can't do both Philly and BC. I hope to retire about mid-year 2007. I live in Thousand Oaks and have friends and family most of the way up the coast so will probably drive. I'm really looking forward to the trip.

Hi Peg,
Thank you, for filling out your profile.
I dont know if I can make plans for something that is happening a
whole year from now....I dont know what will be happening, where I
will be working etc....but if I go anywhere, it will probably be
Philly.
I went to Vancouver last year with the PWFC, so i have seen it.
Never been to philly, so I think I would go there. For the
historical value if nothing else.
