Enough already as to whether Keanu looks 15 or 35! What is he doing now? Is
he on tour with his band, filming a new movie or just vegging out? I know his
new movie Matrix is coming out soon so I am sure we will see him being
interviewed on late-night talk shows and the like. By the way, does he have a
girlfriend yet? or is he still single? Any truth to the rumours he might be
gay?

That that is, is, and when it is, that is the reason it is.

Why? A person could point out that might be insulting to teenagers <g>. I'm
not trying to be age-ist. Keanu just looked like a teen ager some of the
time when he was onstage in Charlotte. Wish there were more people online
and we could compare notes, or maybe Sus/tdeno from Reeves Dr. will say
something. Reeves Dr. contains pics from Charlotte.

Some nonAmericans hide their age well. Keanu is probably one. I have a
friend who is an 18-year-old soccer player from Nigeria. You cannot look at
him and listen to him talk and tell his age range. He could be anywhere
from 15 to late 30s; he's lived abroad and is very mature. He speaks
English with a heavy accent. He sounds mature for his age, his accent
contributes to the difficulty of pinpointing his age.

You can do an Excite search on Keanu and come up with lotsa pics and web
sites. I recommend Reeves drive, Shirley's Ravishing Reeves Review.

I agree - he looks better, but he would not be at all suitable to play
Romeo - a 14 year-old kid. Much as I dislike Leonardo, he does have the
right look.

From a while back, does anyone remember the Romeo Rainbow Photo of Keanu at
the Lenox, Mass Shakespeare workshop, as Trinculo <correct?>. I liked
Keanu's smile; I'd like to see the character and the play that put it
there. I still think that, as slender as he is, Keanu would make a great
Romeo. I left Shakespeare in Love thinking about K. in the Joe Fiennes
part, but most of all I'd like to see K. do Romeo, while he's still young
enough to look 14, (literally, when D* played in Charlotte).

Which Shakespeare for you hoping for, Jenn? I see your point about the
football movie. Broadening the base can only help. Do you think his core
fans will enjoy it any way?

I agree with that J. I also think that the "bad guy" is often a more
complex character, after all no character other than the devil is really
supposed to be all bad. LOL. I believe that is one reason Keanu liked his
character in TLTCS and I liked his characterization of Don John. We
sympathize with weakness in Harry and somehow are turned on by the overt
sexiness and danger of Don John at the same time we are repulsed that we
ARE turned on. Don John is the kind of man I would run from in real life,
unless he was chained to a bed, I could have "my way with him", and then
move to another planet, leaving him tied there. The contrast with the real
man, who has a vulnerability that disarms us makes this a particularly well
executed performance.

I'd love to see Keanu do a role very similar to the one Nick Nolte did in
Who'll Stop the Rain. Knockout role.

Or a role like the one Rober DeNiro had in The Deer Hunter. Big brother,
hero, the one who took care of everyone. I think he'd be a natural in it.

Or even some of the kinds of roles Cary Grant had in his more serious
pictures.

Trying a reply to the entire list/snipped. I'm surprised by the choice (I
was hoping for Shakespeare) but I think the football movie will draw het

Hello everyone. Thanks for joining the list. If we're patient and work to
get the list to grow it'll be a great place to talk about Keanu.

I guess we're all trying to contain our excitement about The Matrix. After
that maybe it will be the football movie. I hope it's not a "typical"
sports movie. Does anyone know what the status of that one is? Exactly what
is it about, and what part will Keanu play? Does anyone know of any Web
sites where we can monitor its status rather than waiting for reports in
the entertainment columns?
