He is a childhood star that sort of faded out of public eyes for almost two
decades. But he is a fascinating person, an erudite teacher of photography,
etc. His absence hasnt been because of some undesired trait.
I think he could pull of a really interesting role right now if anyone would
give him the chance.
does anyone know if he is interested? or if he is, if this is something we can
expect?

"Auf Los geht's los" (approx. "Ready, set, go!") was a German pun-show of the
1980s with J. "Blacky" Fuchsberger, one of the most famous actors of Germany's
50-70s, and Barret and Tami were invited to promote THE NEVERENDING STORY. Also
guests were director Wolfgang Petersen and producer Bernd Eichinger.

Rebecca Schaeffer was Barret's counterpart in Scenes from the Class
Struggle in Beverly Hills -- his last movie -- She was the person
killed by a stalker, the reason he withdrew from the movie industry --
He has worked as photographer on a couple of other movies -- Pull him
up in IMDb --
I don't buy that he had to go into hiding, but if the quotes suggest
that he wanted to, then I agree with that. Usually there is a
significant reason for an actor to just "stop" like that all of a
sudden with not even little projects before they fade away(most will
tell you it's their "right" but that's not WHY they did it).
The close friend you speak of is Rebecca Schaeffer, who is the only
celebrity to date to be killed by a stalker. She was an up and coming
star and was the closest to his age in the last movie he was in. I
don't know how close they were, but that would explain the vanishing act.

It's certainly him. Kyle is his older brother and Kent and Kathy are
his parents. Only Anita and Gabby I don't know.
Concerning this photographic image show in Emeryville Ca. we should
definitely respect his decision, though, regarding his Hollywood past
to keep out of the public, if anybody thinks on taking this
opportunity to possibly photograph him, - and to make it public then.

I too am new here, and would like to add to the recent photos of
Barret.
I love photography and recently purchased a book by Barret Oliver (A
History of the Woodburytype). The book is limited to 800 copies, and
you can still get them online : http://www.carlmautz.com There is a
photo on the back of the same person in the flickr photos.
If anyone lives near Emeryville Ca., there is a photographic image
show (mpmpresents.com) on Oct 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn. The
publisher of Barret's book is putting this show on. There very well
could be a chance Barret would attend or perhaps have a booth of his
own. I'm not certain if he will, but after all he is really into
photography.
In the book, Barret list thanks to his family: Kyle,Kathy,Kent,Anita
and Gabby. If anyone can confirm that these names are indeed family
members, then we may have the right Barret.
Hope this helps.

I would guess that Hollywood didn't want to know after he entered
puberty and lost the cute factor. Noah Hathaway faded away as well and
look what happened to Macaulay Culkin. I actually really admire this
guy for saying enough and training and succeeding in an other art.
Don't like the new age traveller look though if it is Barrett. (modern
photo)
Hi Jerry,
thanks for adding the photos. You're right, it's just his way he wants
to look like and we can't dictate him that. I like him however he
looks like.
Kind regards
Rico
Hello folks,
I'm new here, but I hope I don't spoil your personal image of him with
the pics I just added to the photo setion.
They display Barret during two private events in October and December
2007 and two comparison, I made to make myself sure that he is it.
Here's the link to the pics.

Well, he looks a bit strange, to be frank, but it's obviously the way
he wants to live now.
Best

Please BS mummy do not combine your inherent trait with my e-name
because that is being dishonest! I was merely informing this group as to
why baldness doesn't necessarily equate to an old age appearances. You
illogically attacked my method of assessment even as you agreed with my
it. You have already spewed out volumes of unrequested information
about your deeper-most self! R.I.P.
I am totally shocked that I have been attacked by anyone while
explaining why the person that we are a fan of is not actually as old
looking as was being described in a previous post.

O.K.: you agree that baldness is genetic. Why, then, do you label my
post as being "pretentious"? Every child gets roughly half of each
parents genes. We do know that the father has a male pattern balding at
a fairly young age gene (or whatever the scientists have named it). We
